What Is NCIS: Origins About?

What do we know about NCIS: Origins? According to TV Line, the year is 1991, and Leroy Jethro Gibbs is starting his new job as a new agent at the Camp Pendleton office. This is an old-school era when the team cannot rely on technology to solve cases. Mike Franks is the leader of this team, as he molds young Gibbs into the legendary agent fans know and love.

While longtime fans know a a lot about this military procedural and about Gibbs, co-showrunners Gina Lucita Monreal and David J. North promise there are a lot of new stories.

This is really the making of Leroy Jethro Gibbs. And even the most dedicated NCIS fans will discover they don’t know the whole story.

Who Is Starring In This Young Gibbs Spinoff Prequel?

Will Mark or Sean Harmon star in this series? They are the two actors who have portrayed Gibbs. Sean Harmon is an executive producer, staying behind-the-scenes. So is Mark Harmon, but he is the narrator of the series.

Instead, Austin Stowell is portraying Leroy Jethro Gibbs. Next, Kyle Schmid will portray young Mike Franks. In addition, Mariel Molino portrays Special Agent Lala Dominguez, Diany Rodriguez portrays Special Agent Vera Strickland, and Tyla Abercrumbie portrays Field Operation Support Officer Mary Jo Sullivan.

Dominguez and Gibbs have some “sparks.” Strickland is “a no-nonsense, sharp-witted Brooklynite who’s tough as nails and never minces words.” Lastly, Abercrumbie is “a mama bear who has wryly dubbed herself HSIC – Head Secretary In Charge.”

CBS took a big risk by canceling the popular NCIS: Hawaii and bringing this series in. However, the OG has always been the most successful series, despite cast changes. Now, they are giving their top series the Young Sheldon treatment. Will fans stay on the channel to watch?

NCIS fans, will you be tuning in to watch this prequel spinoff?
