Who Is The Replacement For Abby Lee Miller?

Gloria “Glo” Hampton will be replacing Abby Lee Miller on Dance Moms: A New Era. The show is a reboot of the reality TV series and will air on Hulu.

A teaser for the new Dance Moms series was shared on July 9. “This will be the biggest challenge of my career,” Glo said in a voiceover. “I’m the coach of the next big team.”

The show sneak peek showed seven young dancers who will appear in the series. In the clip, the coach can be heard warning them, “I can replace anyone at any time.”

Dance Moms: A New Era will have 10 episodes. Just like the original series, the show will follow all of the dancers at the coach’s dance school. Glo’s school, Studio Bleu, is a top-notch studio that competes weekly.

Although it is Glo’s first time appearing as the head coach on television, she appeared on seasons three and four of the original Dance Moms series. Her daughter, Kaeli Ware, appeared on the show.

Dance Moms Reunion Shows ‘Trauma Bond’ Between Dancers

News of a Dance Moms reboot came two months after some of the original competition team came together for a reunion. Abby Lee Miller’s Junior Elite competition team consisted of Brooke Hyland, Chloe Lukasiak, JoJo Siwa, Kalani Hilliker, Kendall Vertes, and Paige Hyland.

During the reunion, each of the girls reflected on their time on the show. They also talked about their individual relationships with Abby.

Kalani referred to her relationship with her coach as a “trauma bond.” JoJo Siwa agreed with that. “It really is, whether that be a good trauma or a bad trauma,” she said. “It doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a negative thing, but there’s just such a familiarity.”

While the cameras didn’t always catch heart-warming moments on television, the entire experience brought them closer together. Kalani agreed, “It’s a family thing.”

“We even talk to each other’s mothers,” she further explained her stance. “People don’t even realize how close we are.” Many of the girls in the group said that their bond helps them brush off criticism from people on the outside.

“So I always think it’s funny when people write so many negative things about us and our relationships with each other,” Kalani said during the reunion. “We are all so close and everything that what other people say, it doesn’t matter, because we’ve gone through so much together, our moms, us, everything.”

Dance Moms: A New Era will premiere on Hulu on August 7.
