Fans are “shipping” a relationship between Today Show host Hoda Kotb and actor Kevin Costner. Apparently, Hoda is open to the idea. She talked about the possibility with Andy Cohen and her co-host Jenna Bush Hager. Here is what she had to say.
Hoda Reacts To Fans ‘Shipping’ A New Relationship
Hoda Kotb joined Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live on Tuesday. During their conversation, Hoda learned that viewers have been clamoring online to see her with Kevin Costner again.
The former Yellowstone actor recently appeared on The Today Show and joined Hoda for a separate segment during her hour-long program with Jenna Bush Hager. Since seeing them speak with each other, fans have been itching to see them together “IRL.”
“How do you feel about viewers ‘shipping’ you and Kevin Costner after he appeared on ‘Today’ last month?” a fan asked Hoda on Watch What Happens Live. “And have the two of you connected since?”
Looking shocked, Hoda Kotb asked, “Wait, what?” Andy Cohen took a moment to explain that people online want the two of them together. “I have never heard that not one time,” the Today host claimed.
Savannah Guthrie, who joined her on the late-night show, asked, “Well, you heard it now, you up to it?” She prodded, “Give the people what they want.”
Taking a moment to consider it, Hoda gave the camera a flirty look and said, “Well, if the viewers want it.”
Hoda Kotb’s Co-Host Asked To ‘Set Them Up’
On Wednesday, Hoda Kotb couldn’t dodge the topic of her pending romance with the Hollywood actor. During that day’s episode of Today With Hoda and Jenna, her co-host told her that she knew viewers were rooting for the pair to get together.
“I didn’t know you and Kevin were shipping! I didn’t even know what shipping meant,” Jenna joked.
Then, she continued, “I actually did know because people were coming up to me on the street, and people were like, ‘You should set up Hoda and Kevin Costner’ and I was like, ‘wow, I didn’t know they were flirting behind my back.'”
Producers on Today then played a few clips of Hoda Kotb and Kevin Costner interacting with each other behind the scenes. Jenna Bush Hager pointed out several times where Kevin rubbed Hoda’s arm, alluding to romantic tension. Another clip showed him giving the Today host a low-waist hug with both hands.
“Kevin and Hoda should date! They look cute together,” one fan wrote online. “I see a little chemistry there,” another person interjected. “I noticed the way he put his hands when he hugged her,” a third viewer chimed in.
Not only is everyone on the internet “shipping” the relationship, but both of them are available. Hoda Kotb was previously married to Burzis Kanga from 2005 to 2008. Then she was engaged to Joel Schiffman, their relationship lasting from 2015 to 2022.
Kevin Costner was married to Cindy Costner from 1978 to 1994 and Christine Baumgartner from 2004 to 2023.
