Katie Maloney Speaks Out On ‘Mean’ Reunion Episode Tactic
Katie Maloney has spoken out about the tactic producers used in the last part of the Vanderpump Rules reunion. She did not like how they decided to target Ariana Madix and make her feel upset on purpose. Ariana also spoke on the issue. The last part of the reunion was an emotional one for fans to watch. Some love Lala, and some hate her. However, she will continue to speak her mind. Keep reading to find out more.
Ariana Madix Doesn’t Appreciate Tactic
During the reunion episode, the producers did not show the final five minutes of the last episode to the cast on purpose. They wanted to show them at the reunion. This was more than likely a tactic to get Ariana to show her emotions because she is good at hiding them. However, she was not a fan.
“It felt, ‘Well, we have her trapped in this room now. We didn’t get what we wanted to get [during the finale]. We didn’t get to break her down in real life in the moment, so we’re gonna retaliate by doing that right now in a place where she’s contractually obligated to be here and try to force this moment now.’ Great, I cried. Are you guys happy now?”
She was clearly upset and did not appreciate what they just did. However, they achieved their goals by making her cry.
Katie Maloney Speaks On The Issue
Katie Maloney felt the same way about the way the show went about it. She spoke out on the issue.
“I hated the ending of it all. I hated that they waited to show us that five minutes because I was like, ‘This feels mean and it’s just mean towards Ariana,’ that wasn’t for any of us. There was nothing shocking in it for any of us. It was only mean toward one person.”
You even see Katie mouth “what the f*ck” when they were showing the last five minutes. Fans agreed that it felt targeted towards only Ariana and no one else there. However, they know that Tom Sandoval got a good laugh out of it which makes fans hate him even more.
It seems neither Katie nor Ariana were fans of the way producers made Ariana feel. Katie mentioned it felt very targeted towards Ariana and it was unfair. However, it did get her raw and real emotions. So, producers got what they wanted, and Ariana realized that. She even asked if they were happy now that she cried in front of people.
