Hallmark’s new movie Family Practice Mysteries: Coming Home has an intriguing intro. “A retired Army medical examiner uncovers a murder in a small town.” Ready to learn more?
According to the summary, Dr. Rachel Hunt has moved to a small town to be the local family doctor. Before this, she was an army trauma surgeon, but when she lost her husband in combat, she decided to take her two children and move in with her widowed father.
Things seem to be going well until one of her favorite patients, Ross, dies. The reason Dr. Rachel is upset is that she gave him a “clean bill of health.” This smart and intuitive doctor checks over everything and realizes she did not miss a thing. Therefore, she believes this is murder.
“Her attempt to involve the authorities is met with resistance by charming police detective Jack Quinn, who wants to hep, but is not convinced that this is anything more than a death by natural causes.”
Now, Rachel uses her experience with military forensics to investigate. Things are not adding up. What could have happened to this newspaper editor? Soon, Rachel convinces Quinn to do some sleuthing of his own.
“But when finding the search for a killer puts Rachel’s life in danger, she realizes that small town life will not be nearly as quiet as she planned.”

The premiere of Family Practice Mysteries: Coming Home is on Friday, May 17, at 9 p.m., Eastern on Hallmark Mystery. In addition, this movie will be available to stream on Peacock up to 72 hours after the premiere.
