‘American Idol’ Will J-Lo Replace Katy Perry?
Katy Perry has announced that she is leaving American Idol after six seasons on the show. Many fans are sad to see the judge leave but are interested in seeing who will replace her. Some people have a few ideas on who might be able to fill Katy Perry’s spot on the show, including veteran judge Jennifer Lopez. Katy Perry Decides To Leave American Idol
American Idol is returning with Season 22 on Sunday. The new season will see the return of judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Katy Perry. However, the Dark Horse singer has revealed that it will be her last season on the show.
Katy Perry was first announced as a new judge on American Idol in 2017 for the show’s 16th season. At the time, she was excited to be a part of the show.
“I am honored and thrilled to be the first judge bringing back the American Idol tradition of making dreams come true for incredible talents with authentic personalities and real stories,” she said. “I’m always listening to new music and love discovering diamonds in the rough. From mentoring young artists on my label, or highlighting new artists on my tours, I want to bring it back to the music.”

After six seasons, the pop star has decided that she wants to leave the show. She shared with Jimmy Kimmel that she plans to focus more on new music after her exit from the show.
“I love Idol so much. It’s connected me with the heart of America, but I need to feel that pulse of my own beat,” Katy Perry told Jimmy. “I love the show so much but I wanna go and see the world and maybe bring new music.” She revealed that she will be performing at a music festival in Brazil in September called Rock in Rio.
Fans Guess Who Will Fill Katy’s Shoes
Since the announcement, fans have taken to social media to discuss who might potentially replace Katy Perry on American Idol.
One person guessed that J-Lo may make a comeback on the show. “Watch for Jennifer Lopez’s return,” they wrote.
