‘MAFS’ Emily Balch Reveals Horrific Injury After Accident, Not ‘Fake’
Married at First Sight cast member Emily Balch got into a terrible accident while riding ATVs with her Lifetime match, Brennan Shoykhet. She recently revealed how serious the injury was, calling out all the viewers who dismissed it as “fake” for the sake of drama. So, what else did she have to say about her harrowing ordeal?
Married At First Sight: Emily Balch And Brennan Shoykhet Have Struggled In Season 17
Married at First Sight couples all go through rough patches. It’s to be expected when you marry a complete stranger at the altar. Some couples certainly struggle more than others. Emily and Brennan have issues of their own to work through, as they continue to try to form a lasting bond in current Lifetime scenes.
The Married at First Sight spark is definitely lacking between these two. Emily said that she no longer has any expectations as she and Brennan continue to “figure things out.” They seem to be willing to ride it out and stick to the process, including listening to the experts to make something happen.
MAFS: Couple Bonding Activity Takes Horrific Turn
In every Married at First Sight season, the experts encourage different activities for each couple to participate in to grow their connection and solidify their bond. Emily Balch and Brennan Shoykhet clearly need all the help they can get right now. However, what was supposed to be a fun activity turned into the complete opposite for Emily.
Emily Balch booked an ATV date for her and her husband in an effort to keep things on the lighter side. Brennan told her on their honeymoon that he felt “drained” being around her, and that he didn’t find her attractive. Most couples don’t come back from something like this. In an attempt to get over that hump, Emily booked an ATV adventure that went completely off the rails.
Unfortunately for Emily Balch, her ATV went off the trail and crashed, adding even more real-life drama to an already tense Married at First Sight situation.
Married At First Sight Fans Think Accident Was Staged
Reality TV fans are as skeptical as they come, no matter which show it is. After Lifetime aired Emily Balch’s dramatic ATV accident, many viewers called out the scenes as fake or staged to add drama to this storyline. Many viewers agree that Emily and Brennan’s scenes are on the boring side. Something like this would, in theory, be just the kind of thing to add drama to this couple’s scenes.
Clapping back at the negativity, Emily Balch recently shared proof of her in the hospital getting treated for her injury. She called out all the Married at First Sight fans saying her accident scene was “fake.”
With her helmet on, Emily Balch still got a significant head injury from the accident. She shared an update of herself in a hospital bed with proof that the injury isn’t fake, along with a message: “PSA PEOPLE wear helmets – this happened w/ a helmet on…..I’m V lucky + thankful to be alive & look the way I do now.”
Luckily, her accident and resulting injury weren’t worse, as they certainly could have been. Still, it was real, and painful, for any viewers that still have doubts.
