‘Little People Big World’ Stars Slammed For Illegal Stunt
Little People, Big World stars Audrey and Jeremy Roloff are under fire after showing off an illegal stunt on social media.
In May 2022 Audrey and Jeremy bought a two-story farmhouse in Hillsboro, Oregon, for an estimated $1.5 million. Since then, the couple have been hard at work with renovations on the property. In an interview with In Touch Weekly, Audrey reflected on her journey with Jeremy.
“When we were dating my dad used to call [Jeremy] ‘Mr. Adventure,’” Audrey said. “Everything we did together seemed to be or turn into an adventure. Here we are 11 years later still embracing all the challenges that come with choosing the unpredictable, uncomfortable, unknown, and inconvenient way. But the stories are always worth it.”
Originally, the couple intended to take over his family farm. But when Jeremy’s father, Matt Roloff, decided to put his land up for sale in May 2022, they needed to pivot. “Jer and I hoped to take over his parents’ farm (or a portion of it) since he was a child. It was something he was led to believe was possible,” Audrey revealed. “He made it very known to his family and publicly on TV. It became a mutual dream when we got married, and we started working towards it.”
Audrey and Jeremy Roloff Celebrate In A Big Way
In an effort to bring in the holiday season with a bang, the Roloff’s community put on a fireworks show. Afterward, Audrey took to social media to show off the elaborate fireworks show. Adding to her Instagram story, she posted a few pictures of the festive display. “Ended the night with a ‘little’ fireworks show. The thing we can get away with out here…” she wrote.
In a second picture, Audrey paid special attention to her community. She offered her thanks for the ability to cut loose and enjoy some quality family time. “Made us super grateful for what a fun, special community we have in our country neighborhood that we wouldn’t have if we moved further out on more land.”

There is just one problem with the impressive fireworks show. In Oregon, fireworks are illegal. According to the state’s official website, “Fireworks that fly in the air, explode, or behave in an uncontrolled and unpredictable manner are not allowed in Oregon without the proper permit issued by our office. A limited fireworks display permit allows the use of 1.4g fireworks, such as bottle rockets, Roman candles, firecrackers, and certain aerial fireworks.”
It’s not clear whether or not the fireworks show was permitted by the state’s government.
Little People Big World Fans React To Fireworks Show
On Reddit, many fans on the Little People, Big World subreddit criticized the Roloff’s disregard for those around them. In one post, one user pointed out their close proximity to the fireworks show. “These fireworks are illegal in Oregon, so is fireworks outside of the week of July 4th,” the user wrote. “We also live down the road and heard a bunch of fireworks going off and were trying to figure out who the flip was setting them off. Now we know…”
Other Reddit users were quick to come to the original poster’s defense. “I think it is very wrong to do fireworks on any day besides July 4 and New Year’s,” wrote one comment. “It is selfish and you don’t take into account for all the people that have PTSD that served our country for your freedom you parade around and all the people that have to worry about their dogs having panic attacks, or babies and children sleeping. This just again shows the privilege that they have. They’re disgusting.”
Another fan took this disdain for the Roloff’s one step further, writing, “The things they can get away with? What a gloating b**** There’s a reason this kind of stuff is illegal. Dumb f**** like these people cause massive forest fires because they think they can get away with it.” The fan continued, “I think I’m almost more mad about her attitude towards it, than the actual fireworks. I’m originally from California so I’m no stranger to living in an area with massive fires happening, but I live in the PNW now and the thought of this area burning down because of people like this realllly pisses me off. These people really think they’re special.”
