My 600-lb Life Season 5 featured the story of Michael and Roni Dominguez. The husband and wife were both struggling with their weight. Their toxic relationship is one of the biggest highlights of their storyline. Regardless, the two worked hard to turn their lives around. Michael appeared on the show at 635 pounds. My 600-lb Life: Michael Dominguez’s Controversial Behavior
Michael is one of the most controversial patients in Season 5. Many viewers accused him of being an abusive husband. During their episode, Roni admitted that her husband had been physically abusing her. Their fights began when Roni expressed her desire to have bariatric surgery as well.
It was speculated that Michael got jealous and even had an incident off-screen. In one of their consultations with Dr. Now, Roni had an arm injury after her husband slammed the door, breaking her fingertip. It was also revealed in their episode that they once lived apart after a nasty fight got out of hand.

Despite their problematic marriage, Michael and Roni Dominguez still showed support for each other. The man from Arizona eventually lost enough weight to qualify for bariatric surgery. Throughout his episode, he was able to shed 287 pounds, dropping him to 348 lbs. The reason for his weight gain came from his unhealthy lifestyle. It also appears that he had issues with his temper, considering how he often gets upset with his wife.
While not much is known about Roni’s progress, she was still able to transform herself. The married couple was full of determination as they parted ways with Dr. Now, and it seems that they’re still pursuing their physical goals today.

Some photos of Michael and Roni Dominguez have been circulating online amid their social media absence. The My 600-lb Life alums were looking much slimmer in the pictures, indicating that they were able to maintain a healthy lifestyle years after the show. The photos allegedly surfaced earlier in 2019. They haven’t had any other posts since, which led to speculation that they may have filed for divorce. At this point, fans can only hope that the married couple will soon resurface and give their fans an update about their progress.
