Michael Strahan was not on GMA once again, without any warning or reason given. What is going on, and when will he be back?

Good Morning America fans were not happy once again as Michael Strahan was missing from the hosting lineup. It was only last week that he was missing without warning, and now he’s missing again on Monday, Dec. 4. It has led to a lot of questions about whether he is okay, as fans try to figure out why the NFL host is missing.

How Many Times Has Michael Strahan Missed GMA?

Strahan missed episodes of GMA in October and November 2023. The Sun reports that ABC eventually explained the disappearance, as the host had also gone silent on social media and was absent from NFL Sunday. He was dealing with personal issues at the time. The announcement came with confirmation that Strahan would miss another week of the series due to the situation. Eventually, he returned, although fans noted that he looked sad when he returned.

Fans hoped it was the last of his disappearance until last week. Michael missed the Thursday and Friday episodes of Good Morning America. He was then missing on Monday. Dec. 4. Yet, Strahan was on social media this time. He was also on hosting duty for the NFL at the weekend.

Is Football the Reason for Strahan’s Disappearance on GMA?

It turns out that this absence may be routine and linked to his other hosting duties. As noted, the former NFL player was doing his usual hosting duties for NFL Sunday. This is not and likely will not be the first time that he will miss Monday morning GMA duties. His duties for NFL Sunday film in California, while the ABC morning talk show films in New York. This could also explain his disappearance on Thursday and Friday if there was a need to get to California earlier than normal or due to other travel plans. Linsey Davis, who filled in for him during his time off in October and November, filled in for him during all absences. Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos filled the other two chairs.

ABC has not commented on the 51-year-old Cowboys player’s whereabouts. The network has also not confirmed if Strahan will be on the show on Tuesday, Dec. 5. Fans do usually see him return on Tuesdays during football season. Fans will need to keep track of the schedule to see if this happens again. It can’t be easy pulling all the hosting duties that he does.

Strahan has still not been active on social media since October, except to retweet a few things from Prime Video about Coach Prime Season 2 at the end of November. He tends to use his social media to retweet content about his various shows, so this is not too concerning.
