When Will Michael Strahan Return To ‘Good Morning America’?
Michael Strahan, co-host of Good Morning America, has been missing in action since the end of October. His absence has left fans concerned for his well-being. It’s also left them wondering when the former NFL player will return to the morning talk show GMA soon.
When Will Michael Return To Good Morning America?
The former NFL player first joined GMA in 2016 when he left his position on Live With Kelly and Michael. In his seven years at GMA, Strahan has become a staple of the show. As such, fans are eager to know when they can expect to see him again.
Luckily, during a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, an inside source said, ‘Michael is a huge presence at GMA, and his absence is definitely felt. He’s universally adored. Everyone wishes him the best as he deals with personal family matters. The hope is for him to get back to work soon.’ That same source said we can expect him to return to work by next week.
Why Has Strahan Been Absent From GMA For Nearly Two Weeks?
Although Michael hasn’t officially commented on his absences, a spokesperson from ABC released a statement explaining that he wouldn’t be with them this week because he’s dealing with personal family matters. Strahan has been missing from his post as a game analyst on Fox NFL Sunday. This absence prompted fellow commentator Curt Menefee to inform viewers that his absence was due to “personal family matters.” The former NFL player has also been noticeably missing from social media. His last Instagram post was made on October 25th, just one day before his last appearance on GMA.
The nature of these family matters is left to speculation for now, as Michael’s representatives have not responded to any attempts at an interview.
Strahan’s Career So Far
Michael Strahan is a former NFL player who played for the New York Giants for 15 years. After retiring from the NFL in 2007, he joined Fox NFL Sunday in 2008. He was a guest host on Live! With Regis and Kelly in 2010 and joined Kelly Ripa as co-host in 2012, following Philbin’s departure from the show in 2011. The show was renamed Live! With Kelly and Michael until he exited the show in 2016 to join the cast of Good Morning America and host a revival of ABC’s $100,000 Pyramid. His abrupt departure caused a rift between Strahan and his former co-host that continues to this day. In fact, his presence may have been why Kelly was absent from her good friend Robin Roberts’s wedding.
