Leah McSweeney Not Settling With Bravo, Going Distance
RHONY alum Leah McSweeney is going after Bravo and she is making it clear that she is not settling. More so, she is going the distance when it comes to her suit after what they put her through. Back in March, the fashion designer filed a claim. Now, she is discussing what she plans to do next.
Leah McSweeney Not Settling With Bravo, Going Distance
A recent Vanity Fair article blew the roof off of all of the wrongdoings housewives claimed they faced during their time filming. This particular piece actually landed RHONY alum and OG, Ramona Singer in really hot water. A racial slur from Season 13 was mentioned which she disputed. Yet, when reached out for comment, she stuck her foot in her mouth. This led to her losing her spot at BravoCon 2023 and getting axed from her job as a real estate agent at Douglas Elliman. Now, her two-season co-star, Leah McSweeney is taking a stand but from the other side.

Singer has remained loyal to Bravo, even recently appearing on WWHL. However, McSweeney is not happy with how she was treated and the way she was convinced to do things she did not want to. According to Page Six, Leah is continuing to take action and she won’t stop until she gets what she wants. Now, as aforementioned, with the Americans with Disabilities Act, she filed a discrimination complaint. She alleged this all occurred during RHUGT3 which she was lured into attending under false pretenses.
Though she had just left a psychiatric hospital, production claimed they would give her another television opportunity if she appeared on the spin-off. Leah McSweeney also detailed a relapse during her first season on RHONY. Plus, she claimed that she could not be there when her grandma passed away due to a cast trip to the Hamptons.
“It hurt so bad that I was not able to grieve. That I had people not showing me any kind of compassion or humanity regarding it.”
Losing her grandmother and all of the emotions that went with it led her to the psychiatric episode. More so, the only reason she took RHUGT, aside from the promises, was the 250K payday.
False Accusations
Of course, Bravo’s production insiders are disputing Leah McSweeney’s allegations. They claim she had all she needed to be with her grandma, regardless of day or time. Additionally, a lawyer for all of those involved with Bravo and its companies spoke to Vanity Fair. Christie Del Rey-Cone said this: “Production spent endless amounts of time accommodating her,” referencing Leah’s “alleged disabilities.” They were referring to her drug and alcohol problems but it gets fuzzy as Leah talks about her mental health. However, her alcohol issues come up, as well.
Though she talks about relapsing in Season 12, if she is referring to alcohol, this is seemingly false. When Leah McSweeney joined RHONY, she claimed she had been sober for nearly a decade. Yet, she started drinking again several months prior to filming. Whether circumstances made her drink more is a different story. In any case, Leah believes Bravo hid the truth and she seems determined to set the record straight.
