Mauricio Umansky Shares Support He Received On ‘DWTS’

With charm in his back pocket, Mauricio Umansky excelled at being a real estate agent. While life was good, it drastically changed thanks to marrying Kyle Richards and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Since gaining fame, the self-described mogul expanded his brand to include a Netflix series Buying Beverly Hills. Most recently, Umansky found himself competing on Dancing with the Stars. Although he had some moves, he was eliminated on Tuesday. Talking about his experience on the show, the star revealed what he learned and the surprising support he received along the way. 

Back in July, news circulated that Mauricio Umansky and Kyle Richards decided to separate. What made the news even more surprising was the fact that they shared 27 years together. A person close to the couple admitted they had been separated for some time but remained living together. The source insisted they were “amicable” while working through their hardships. 

Not Throwing In The Towel Yet

Although some suggested this was the end of the marriage, Mauricio Umansky defended their love and claimed they were working together. “We’ve been married for 27 years. We’re having a bit of a rough patch.” He eventually added, “She and I currently are separated, but we are not throwing in the towel. We’re not just saying that to say that. We actually are not yet throwing in the towel.”

While the couple supposedly work on their marriage, Mauricio Umansky jumped at the chance to appear on Dancing with the Stars alongside Emma Slater. Not able to make it to the end, the star explained how he lost 20 pounds from the process. “Since I started this journey, I had just gotten back from Italy, so I was eating a lot of pasta. I was drinking a lot of wine. I’ve been on a great diet, I’ve lost 20 pounds in six weeks. I’m in as good physical shape as I’ve ever been.”

Not shying away from his problems, Mauricio Umansky praised Emma Slater for her guidance through the entire process.  “She has been a great friend, a great coach, a great confidant, and emotionally, it’s just been a great journey as well. So on every aspect, it’s been solid.”

It also seems that Kyle Richards supports her husband’s time on the show as Umanksy said, “She has been supportive. Despite the fact that she hasn’t been here, she’s had her own stuff going on and what have you, but everybody’s been super supportive.”

During Mauricio Umansky’s time on the show and his marriage on hold, rumors circulated that he and Slater were seeing each other. This rumor only grew when the pair were seen holding hands in Beverly Hills. The star cleared the air, saying, “We are not dating. We are really good friends. We’ve been dancing together now for six weeks, four hours a day, every single day.”
