Olivia Flowers Feels ‘Southern Charm’ Is An Escape After Brother’s Death
Olivia Flowers’s brother unexpectedly passed away at the age of 32. Conner Flowers died midway through the filming of Season 9 of Southern Charm. Olivia has said the support from her fellow cast members is “Why I kept showing up.” It is great that Olivia can find that loyalty from her fellow cast members.
Olivia Finds Support
Olivia Flowers’s brother passed away from complications from Lyme disease midway through the filming of Season 9 of Southern Charm. She said “That was like, the worst timing. It certainly made it just that much more challenging to finish it out,” Flowers says. “But my castmates were all supportive in their own individual ways and a lot of people stepped up to help me and my family and be there for us.”
Flowers went on to say “That was so incredibly appreciated. They are why I kept showing up to finish it out. At the end of the day, it’s a job, it’s a commitment, and some days it is incredibly difficult. I had someone like Rod [Razavi] who was able to help me through it.” Olivia says filming was a “good distraction. It was a good escape at the time.”

“Olivia went on to state that her “brain did a complete shift into what mattered. It put a lot into perspective, and [showed] as well who my friends were and who stepped up and who was there for me. And new friendships were developed from all that. That’s what you see happen in the second half of things.”
Flowers does admit “It’s going to be difficult to watch back the episodes from that period.”
Olivia’s Brother Connor
The family shared some statements about Connor. They said “Conner was a remarkable young man, with the gift of compassion and love for others, earning him friends everywhere he went. His values were seeded in his faith and in his family. We know his absence will be felt by many for years to come.”
Olivia Flowers added “He led every interaction with that big heart of his. Catching everyone’s eye with his fashion sense. I don’t know what this life will be without you. It’s always been us 4. I can only hope I continue to be known forever as ‘Conner’s little sister.’” You can see the love that she had for him without a doubt.

Olivia and Her New Beau
Olivia Flowers and Rod continued to explore their relationship during the time shortly after Connor’s passing. The couple go out on a date on what would have been Connor’s 33 birthday. Olivia Says “He’s a great listener and he’s able to give unbiased advice. I confided in him a lot throughout the season and it was so appreciated. That’s just the kind of guy he is.”
Olivia Flowers also reconnects with Austen Kroll During Southern Charm Season 9. Austen can sympathize with what Olivia is going through as he also lost a sibling. Austen lost his sister during his childhood. These two have been through a lot, but he is actually helpful for her during this rough time.
Olivia Flowers says of her break up with Austen “Going into this season, we weren’t really in the best place. We hadn’t talked or seen each other for a while, so it wasn’t that there were a lot of interactions before. When you see us at Madison’s wedding party, that was the first time we were seeing each other in a while. All the nerves and discomfort that come through are very organic. You’ll see that on the season just trying to navigate where we see each other next just as friends. And it was tricky.”
