Joy Behar Reveals If She Plans To Write A Tell-All About ‘The View’
One day someone will write a tell-all about the events that happened on The View, and Joy Behar said Andy Cohen wants that person to be her. Cohen knows what it means to spill the beans on something as big as this talk show. On a recent podcast appearance, Behar mentioned the possibilities of that book.
Here is what Joy Behar said about a tell-all book about The View and the chances of seeing it.
Joy Behar says Andy Cohen wants a tell-all book
Joy Behar was on the Behind the Table podcast with Brian Teta, an executive producer from The View. The two began talking about the celebrity memoirs. Teta asked Behar if she ever kept journals about her time on the talk show. Joy admitted that she only kept a diary of what was happening during Rosie O’Donnell’s first year on the show. She then said that Andy Cohen was “begging” her to write a tell-all book.
When talking about the celebrities who write memoirs, which often spill the tea about controversial moments in the entertainment industry, Teta agreed that fans would “go crazy” if Behar wrote a book. The main consensus is that people want to see a book written about Rosie O’Donnell’s rough start on The View. However, while Behar agreed that it would be successful, she said she wasn’t interested in writing the book.
According to Behar, she equates it to the book titled You’ll Never Eat Lunch In This Town Again. This was an autobiography by Julia Phillips, who spilled a lot of secrets about Hollywood in the 1970s and 1980s and the power games and debauchery in those years. It was an immediate bestseller when it came out in 1981 and was re-released after Phillips died in 2002. The book was a success, but it also ensured that Phillips would never get another job in Hollywood. She revealed scandalous secrets about Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Richard Dreyfuss, David Geffen, and more.
Joy Behar said a tell-all book would end her career
Joy Behar looked at what Julia Phillips did and equated it to what would happen to her if she wrote a tell-all book about The View. “The girl writes a book and talks about things like … one movie star has B.O., another one has bad breath,” Joy said. “And then she can’t … You’ll Never Eat Lunch In This Town Again is a good title for the book.”
Teta also said that the book wouldn’t be a good idea, but he also said he was surprised that Joy wouldn’t consider it. She is often openly candid with her thoughts. However, Joy had a good response to that statement. “Do you think I’d be on the show for 27 years if I did not hold something back?” she said.
