‘Shark Tank’: Is Mark Cuban Leaving Show?
Mark Cuban has been on the reality TV series Shark Tank since its third season, but he remains one of the most well-known faces among the sharks. After so many seasons on the show, it would seem strange to see the reality TV series without Cuban. However, the entrepreneur has started talking about the end.
Here is what Cuban said about leaving Shark Tank.
Is Mark Cuban leaving Shark Tank?
Mark Cuban was a guest on Shark Tank in Season 2 and ended up replacing Kevin Harrington in Season 3. Since the fourth season, the lineup of sharks has included Cuban, Daymond John, Barbara Corcoran, Robert Herjavec, Kevin O’Leary, and Lori Grenier. It would seem strange to see any of them leave, but Cuban has teased this possibility.
In a recent interview with Parade, Cuban talked about the upcoming 15th season of the show and when his time might be coming to an end.
When asked what it is that keeps him coming back to Shark Tank, Cuban said it is the people who watch the show. He said every time someone comes up to him and says they started a business because they watched Shark Tank makes it all worth it.
He also mentioned there are people who were teens when they watched it and grew up to become entrepreneurs.
However, there were recent rumors that Mark Cuban might leave Shark Tank. He answered those rumors in the interview. Cuban owns the Dallas Mavericks and is co-owner of 2929 Entertainment. Shark Tank is a chance to add to his portfolio.
However, Cuban said that he has considered leaving the show because his kids are starting college now. He said he used to schedule their vacation together around Shark Tank, but his kids don’t really care about that now that they are moving out.
“It comes down to just being able to get family time together over the summer,” Cuban said. “That’s super important to me and it just gets harder when your kids are going in their own direction.”
When does Mark Cuban invest in a product?
Mark Cuban also said when he invests in a product on Shark Tank. He said it isn’t always the entrepreneur that swings him to support a product. He did say there are cases where he believes in the person and invests because of that. He also said there are some cases where even if the “entrepreneur sucks, I’ll be able to make it work.” Cuban said there were a couple of examples of that coming up in the upcoming season.
“There’s one where the entrepreneur’s just insane and then another one where the product is one of the best things I’ve ever tasted,” Cuban said about the new season. “So, it really depends.”
When it comes to his big wins, he pointed out two products. The first was BeatBox Beverage, where he invested $1 million. The company now has a $200 million value. The other was Dude Wipes, which is now past $50 million in sales.
