Joe showed determination early in his weight loss journey. He even moved to Houston to get closer to Dr. Now. His journey wasn’t smooth from the start. He was even disappointed after gaining 15 pounds despite his programs. But the My 600-lb Life alum didn’t give up and eventually dropped enough weight to qualify for bariatric surgery.
TLC brought him back for a special episode where he revealed losing 418 pounds and had his excess skin removed. He even shared going back to the gym and became even more motivated to stay physically fit.
Joe’s Rollercoaster Love Life
Joe had a wild experience when it came to his love life. After shedding massive pounds, he eventually got married to Sarah, whom he met at a weight loss awareness group. However, they divorced after three years. The My 600-lb Life alum also claimed that his ex-wife was unfaithful to him.
Joe Wexler later reunited with his friend for over 12 years, and they ended up getting married. He even adopted the woman’s daughter, and they have lived happily as husband and wife. Sadly, the former reality TV personality also suffered another heartbreak after his mother passed away in 2022.

Joe has kept in touch with the fans on social media. In June, the My 600-lb Life alum revealed that he’s now going to school while also working full-time. He’s been thankful for all the support he has received throughout the years. Furthermore, he’s excited about his child entering high school this year. The 31-year-old is also looking forward to building a house for his family.
Additionally, Joe Wexler said that he’s been well despite the chronic pain due to his spine injury, which he got in 2016. He even added buying a mower for his lawn and said that he never felt accomplished being able to use the tool for the first time. Facebook became his platform to share motivational quotes about personal growth as well. He has yet to share his current weight. But it’s clear in his photos that he has maintained a healthy lifestyle.
