Ethan Plath Gets The Blame For Olivia’s Control Issues
Welcome to Plathvlle star Ethan Plath might be at fault because his wife, Olivia seems to be very controlling and fans have got a lot to say about it. Their marriage seems to be doomed because of the silent treatment. Both the spoken and unspoken tension is palpable. Is it fixable? Read on to find out what viewers of the TLC show think.
Ethan Plath Seemed Like A Sweet Man Baby
After Season 1 when Olivia’s cringe scene aired showing her giving her man his first coke to drink, things changed. At the time, a lot of people thought that If anyone deserved happiness, it might be Kim and Barry’s oldest son. Raised under extremely restrictive rules, he seemed to come over as a big man baby. So ultimately, if he is to be blamed for what his wife does, perhaps that should be laid at the feet of his mom and dad. But for now, people don’t think back that far.
Ethan Plath clashed with Olivia a lot in Season 2 of Welcome to Plathville. It started to show itself in the first season when his wife started interfering in the way Kim and Barry raised their kids. However, the real problems started emerging in newer seasons. For example, he didn’t want to move to Tampa, Florida. Additionally, he seemed keen to bridge the distance between his family. Remember, he ended up banned from seeing his younger siblings without supervision. Therefore, viewers think it’s time that he stood up and took control back from his wife.

Ethan Plath Gets The Blame For Olivia
TLC fans discussed Oivia’s immaturity on Reddit. There, u/BusyRelationship4458 wrote, “I have a lot of family trauma and I can see that Olivia does as well, but she has a lot of growing up to do.” Well, it referred to the family once again dragging out the annual graveside visit of Kim’s young child who died when she ran him over as a toddler. Olivia wouldn’t get out of the car.
The poster added, “During the birthday celebration at the grave site, she made it about her and her trigger. When her trigger is her responsibility, no one elses. She tries to control every situation and throws an (sic) silent tantrum when she doesn’t get her way.”
Ethan Plath, they wrote, “[caves] to every tantrum to just pacifiy her. When he needs to realize he’s not responsible for her feelings and no is a complete sentence.” Of course, that sparked a conversation about why Welcome to Plathville fans believe he’s to blame for Olivia’s behavior They feel that he’s at fault for his own inaction. Actually, fans saw that silent tantrum many times, including when she caught him working on his car in Tampa.
Controlling Olivia – Ethan Gets Schooled
123canadian456 opined that Ethan Plath “doesn’t like confrontation. Their marriage is the perfect storm.” Summing it up quite well they added, “She controls and he avoids.”
Not everyone blames Ethan and some people sided with Olivia, blaming everyone in the dysfunctional family. However, most people agree that her husband could use some backbone.
