America’s Got Talent‘s Simon Cowell has made a jump he never thought he would. Even though he never planned to marry, he is now engaged to his long-time girlfriend, Lauren Silverman. The two have a history with lots of twists, but they seem to be madly in love.
The Past Few Years For Simon Cowell
Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman have worked through many things, especially over the past few years. Simon Cowell, 63 has been very open about his battle with depression and anxiety. However, with the added life stress through the pandemic, he truly was hit hard. It took him a while to realize how he could get relief. Luckily, Lauren Silverman has been right there by his side throughout the whole process. Regardless of anything going on around them, they have pulled together and provided a healthy home for their son, Eric, 9 as well as Lauren’s son Adam when he is there.
Since the couple’s relationship started non-traditionally, it is comforting to see them together and happy. Eric was one of the main reasons for Simon Cowell’s decision to take their relationship into full-blown nuptials.

Match Made In Heaven?
Who’s to say whether these two are a match made in heaven or not? They seem to be making their way. Their history was a bit on the stormy side in the beginning. Scandalously, when their connection started Lauren was married to real estate tycoon Andrew Silverman. Andrew was allegedly a close friend of Simon’s. Initially, they met in Barbados at Sandy Lane Resort in 2004. Although Simon’s interest grew in Lauren, he continued to date other women. Some of those include TV personality Terri Seymour and makeup artist Mezhgan Hussainy. Even more of a twist, Simon Cowell was engaged to Mezhgan Hussainy for a year (2010-2011) during this time.
Once Simon Cowell and Mezhgan Hussainy broke off their engagement, things started happening for Simon and Lauren. Secretly, they began quietly seeing each other, even though Lauren and Andrew were still married. But once Lauren became pregnant in 2013, the surprise was out. Following that, Andrew filed for a divorce in 2015. The reason listed was adultery as the cause. That was the end of the 10-year marriage of The Silvermans.
Wedding Bells Are Ringing For Simon Cowell And Lauren Silverman
While age is just a number, these two have a bit of a gap. There is an 18-year age separation between the two. But happiness seems to have found them no matter the age difference. Making a funny circle, Cowell returned to Barbados in December 2021 and proposed to Lauren during a trip. Since Cowell’s proposal, the TV personality has dropped some hints about his future wedding.
When asked about the wedding update in 2022, Simon Cowell said, he planned to be in charge of the whole thing. He also said, “It’s all going to be a surprise,” he jokingly said to Parade.com. “Ducked that one.”

However, now, Simon Cowell told Entertainment Tonight on the America’s Got Talent red carpet that he’s “not involved.” When it comes to the particulars of the celebration, Lauren Silverman seems to be making the calls. Although, Simon Cowell wants to have a puppy at the wedding. Suggesting, he said the furry friend can be the ring-bearer.
