Carlin Bates’ Sweet Tribute To Papa Bill Worries Fans: Is He Okay?

Bringing Up Bates fans know Gil Bates’ parents, Papa Bill and Mama Jane, from the show. Of course, now that UPtv has pulled the plug on the series, fans seldom get updates on the grandparents. Fortunately, the family members will occasionally post pictures when they spend time with Papa Bill and Mama Jane. A new post from Carlin has sparked serious concern, however.
Carlin Bates Stewart shares a sweet tribute to Papa Bill.
On her Instagram Stories, Carlin recently reposted an illustration done by an artist. The watercolor painting is based on a picture Carlin took with her grandfather, Papa Bill.
Below, you can see the painting, which was done by Watercolor Things on Instagram. After sharing the post with her fans, Carlin commented, “This is beautiful 🥰 you are very talented.” In addition to Carlin commenting on the post, many others applauded the artist’s incredible work. One said, “This is a great picture of you and papa Bill. Hope he is doing ok. Miss them on the show.”

Bringing Up Bates fans worried: Is he okay?
While many fans do like the painting, others are expressing concern for Papa Bill. On Reddit, fans reposted Carlin Bates Stewart’s post and chatted about it. Some feared that it was a sign that Papa Bill isn’t doing well. One Reddit user claimed, “Papa Bill is quite ill and I think we will see a lot of little tributes like this popping up.” However, it’s unclear where they learned about him being ill.
One fan even asked, “Did her Grandpa Bill die? Has anyone heard anything?”
As of now, the Bates family hasn’t said anything about Papa Bill being sick or passing away. So, hopefully, this means that he’s doing well. Often, if any of the Bates family members are sick or struggling, Gil and Kelly will share updates and request prayers.
