‘Jeopardy!’ Ken Jennings In, Mayim Bialik Out?
Jeopardy! released a fun poster celebrating the end of Season 39. The poster read, “That’s a Wrap on Season 39,” and it included photos of different people from the season. However, while Ken Jennings was prominent in the image, one person was clearly missing – Mayim Bialik.
The promo image didn’t include Mayim Bialik. Here is a look at this curious omission and what the poster image actually meant.
Did Jeopardy! purposefully omit Mayim Bialik from Season 39 celebration?
An image hit social media that showed several people from Jeopardy! Season 39. However, one thing that people noticed was that one person was missing from the image. Mayim Bialik wasn’t on the poster. Ken Jennings was on there, and many wondered if this was a hint of Mayim possibly not returning next season.
Outside of Jennings, the rest of the people shown were contestants from Season 39. These included James Holzhauer, Amy Schneider, Ben Chan, Cris Pannullo, and Jenny Dally. Each of the images was pulled from social media posts or videos put up throughout the last season. However, fans wondered where Mayim Bialik was at.
There is some fear that Mayim might not return for the next season. She left the show to honor the WAG striking writers. While the SAG-AFTRA actors are also now on strike, that would not exempt Mayim from returning to Jeopardy! The union deals for game shows and daytime talk shows are not part of the SAG-AFTRA union. However, some actors might want to honor their union by not appearing in anything. Mayim’s return is still in doubt – at least until the strikes end.
There were several people on social media who noticed Mayim Bialik was not in the promo image (via The U.S. Sun). “Alright, let’s get the other Jeopardy! host on there,” one person wrote. Another said, “I miss Mayim too.” A third wrote, “Why isn’t Mayim in this photo?”
What the Jeopardy! image really was for
There are a lot of people complaining about Mayim Bialik not appearing in the poster for Jeopardy! Season 39’s wrap celebration. However, what most of the people complaining don’t know is that this image was for a very specific purpose. This poster celebrated the top moments from Season 39, and everyone included was part of the Top 10 countdown of social media moments from the season.

Everyone on the poster was part of the moments voted into the Top 10 for Jeopardy! Season 39. At the top was the moment that Ken Jennings and Jenny Dally dabbed during the commercial break after a question about the iconic dance move. Of course, James Holzhauer holding up the trophy was on there for winning Jeopardy! Masters, which was the number one moment on the countdown.
The Andrew He photo in the image was from the mock poster made of him on a fake Law & Odder: Library Crimes Unit poster. Cris Pannullo was on there for his 21-game streak and the stats the social media team put up concerning his success. Amy Schneider was on there for her bright pink dress to honor her Tournament of Champions win. Finally, Ben Chan was on there for his run through the “Hop-Hop Names” category without a problem.
Omitted from the poster was Dan Oxman admitting his childhood crush on Mayim Bialik, Jack Weller thinking the plural of Moose was “Meece,” and Luigi de Guzman’s pronunciations.
Finally, the Ken Jennings image was from a meme that the Jeopardy! social media team created of him with the words “Success: How do you think Ken Jennings got so far? It’s not by slacking off.” That also was no dig at Mayim Bialik and the strike, as it was put up on Instagram on January 24, 2023.
Do you think it was a snub for Mayim Bialik to end up omitted from the Jeopardy! Season 39’s wrap image? Do you think people overreacted without knowing about the Top 10 the image represented? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

I HOPE THE ARTICLE ABOUT JEOPARDY IS TRUE. IT IS NOT THE SAME WITH A WOMAN AS HOST. MY OPINION.
I definitely want Mayim Bialik to come back! I love watching both Ken and Mayim hosting the show. Thank You!
