Did a Today Show host get arrested for boozing?

Like most people, the hosts of The Today Show come to their job with history and baggage. And not all of that history is squeaky clean. But one host, in particular, has been open about their past brush with the law. Read on to find out which Today host was busted for boozing, and how it impacted their life.

Al Roker Receives Flood Of Love Amid Major Family Milestone

This week, the Today Show host Al Roker has been struggling with his own challenge.

The charismatic meteorologist recently spoke about how difficult it is to consider sending his son Nick Roker back to college. The 21-year-old has been on a break from college for the summer. However, now it’s time for him to resume classes as a sophomore.

And Al has been sadly counting down the days until his son returns to the world. As part of their father-and-son routine, Al famously makes delicious meals for his son and has shared many on social media. So it’s no surprise that, as he counts down to his son’s departure, he’s also marking the number of meals he has left to make him. Last week, Al posted another image of a delicious meal with the caption, “Only a few days left for me to make breakfast for Nick.”

Fans flooded the post with love and support for Al and Nick. Some shared their experiences of letting their children head off to college. Others praised Al’s dedication to his son and their loving relationship.

Today Show Host Opens Up About Boozing Arrest

While Al’s bittersweet farewell to his son has occupied fans off-screen, one host has recalled a different kind of college experience.

Host Jenna Bush Hager has always been open about her experience with alcohol as a minor. As the daughter of a former United States President, teenage Jenna had a lot of freedom and access to power, but not a lot of maturity. Jenna has spoken about the fact that she was arrested in 2001 for underage drinking. At the time, Jenna was a student at the University of Texas in Austin. She used a fake ID to purchase alcohol, less than a month after she was arrested for underage drinking.

Both Jenna and her twin sister Barbara were “close” to the age of drinking legally, she has explained, but not quite there yet. Jenna mused that they were around 19 or 20. She added, “The fact that we thought we could do that just speaks to how [our parents] were like, ‘Oh, you can be normal, it’s OK.’” The former First Daughter called their drinking stunt “stupid,” explaining how she and Barbara were arrested while drinking beer at a club. Jenna explained, “When I called my dad to say, ‘I’m really sorry… I got this ticket for drinking underage,’ he said, ‘No, I’m sorry.’ We did embarrass [our parents], but they never would say that. He said, ‘I’m sorry, I told you [that] you can be normal, and you can’t. You can’t order margaritas.’”

Jenna Recalled Being Naive

Jenna recounted that she was required to pay $51.25 in court costs, serve eight hours of community service, and attend an alcohol awareness class. But a month later, she and Barbara were nabbed for trying to buy alcohol again. In recounting the whole experience, Jenna humorously recalled that she must have been very naive. She explained, “Yes, I was actually that naive. Knowing me back then, I had probably requested the table for Jenna Bush, the party of three.”
