Gerry Turner, 72, Shares Age Preference For ‘Golden Bachelorette’
The Golden Bachelor is currently filming in Los Angeles. The cast will reportedly travel stateside but not be going international this season. The star of the show, Gerry Turner, just turned 72 last week. Just before heading off to start filming, he shared the age preference he suggested to the producers of the show. Gerry Turner shares his age preference for women on his season
The Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner is on his journey and hoping to find love again. He lost his wife in 2017 after a sudden illness. The two had been high school sweethearts.
Gerry admits he has dated a little since her passing. However, he hasn’t found anything worth holding onto forever. He admits to being on a dating app and also said he did have a few bad experiences but isn’t going to share them.
As far as the age preference of the women he is looking for, Gerry shared that information too. He shared he didn’t have much say in the casting of the women in his season. Plus, he wouldn’t want a part in it. Variety shared what Gerry had to say. He said, “I wouldn’t want say in casting. My wife’s been gone six years — of that six, I’ve dated about four [years], and I wasn’t very good at casting for myself, so I’m happy that I don’t have that job. I think that the process that they’ve used in the past and they’ve refined will bring some really fantastic candidates.”
As far as the ages of women he’d like to date, he told producers he was looking for women between the ages of 60 to 70. However, he added that they could blur the lines if they wished to do so.
He wants to spend his life with someone
After losing his wife, he went back and forth between if he wanted to remarry someday or just live alone. He was happily married for 43 years before she passed away.
Now, after mourning her loss and feeling like he has her approval, he’s ready to find someone to spend his life with. He likes the idea of having someone around to share his adventures with.
Gerry said his mantra is to never give up. If one thing doesn’t work out, just try the next. He also said one is never too old to try and find love.
