‘The Golden Bachelor’ ABC Announces Fall Debut

The Golden Bachelor 2

After lots of talk and wishful thinking, ABC has finally announced that The Golden Bachelor will debut this fall. The news comes as ABC announced the fall lineup for the network. The spinoff of The Bachelor has been anticipated by fans of the franchise for quite some time. Keep reading to find out what is known about this new show.

The Golden Bachelor is finally coming

Bachelor Nation shared the scoop about when fans can see this long-awaited spin-off titled The Golden Bachelor. Show creators say this spinoff will have the familiar format other Bachelor shows have. However, this time it will be seniors looking to fill a void in their life and find that special someone to spend their time with.

ABC has said this show will feature “the golden years where one hopeless romantic is given a second chance at love in the search for a partner with whom to share the sunset years of life.”

The senior lead, who has yet to be named, will be greeted by many women just as past shows have seen. However, instead of young women in their twenties and early thirties, the women looking for love will be much older. ABC said the women will be “arriving at the mansion with a lifetime of experience, living through love, loss and laughter, hoping for a spark that ignites a future full of endless possibilities. In the end, will our Golden man turn the page to start a new chapter with the woman of his dreams?”

Execs for the show said ideally they want their lead to be 65 years or older but the exact age of The Bachelor chosen has not been revealed. Hopefully, the identity of the new lead will soon be revealed.

Jesse Palmer is returning to host the spinoff.

The Golden Bachelor was not the only show announced as part of the franchise. It was confirmed that Bachelor in Paradise will be returning this fall as well. The beloved beach spinoff will air on Tuesday nights this fall with two-hour episodes.

Plus, while announcing the fall lineup it was also confirmed The Bachelor will be returning for Season 28. This new season should follow past seasons and premiere in January 2024.
