Pete Davidson’s Mommy Defends His Honor Incognito
Pete Davidson has taken his fair share of shots over the years from fans. It seems that he can often do nothing right in the eyes of many. When he was on Saturday Night Live, things got so bad that his mother ended up going after his detractors and taking up for him incognito.
Here is what Pete said his mom did when people kept attacking her son online.
Pete Davidson says his mom used to come to his defense online
Pete Davidson recently appeared on the Family Trips with the Meyers Brothers podcast on June 28. In that appearance, he shared a story about something his mother did for him when the online trolling from fans got a little out of control. He said this happened in his early days on Saturday Night Live, possibly in his second or third year on the show. Pete said that people were posting “not useful, typical Twitter comments.”
This was when his mother came to his defense. He said she created a fake Twitter account and used the name @JoeSmith1355. She then went in and responded to everyone who was posting insults about Pete on Twitter. Pete said his mom would post things that were “so specific, like, ‘Actually, I heard he’s working on himself and does that quite often.'” He said it didn’t take long for some users to figure out who was behind the account.
Pete said it was actually easy to figure out that the Twitter account was his mom’s. That is because the name was @JoeSmith1355, but the profile name was Amy Davidson and the profile pic was of his mom. He said people pretty quickly realized that his mom was coming to his defense. The fact she was sloppy about hiding her identity doesn’t bother Pete Davidson, though. “She got my back, dude,” he finished.

Pete Davidson has been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, which occurred after his father died in the 9/11 attacks. He also was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, an affliction that affects his ability to control his emotions. This is something he has battled for years. It also makes it hard when people pile on him in public forums.
Just one day after appearing on the Family Trips with the Meyers Brothers podcast aired, Pete checked himself into a mental health facility to get help with his multiple mental health issues. He is using the same facility that his friend John Mulaney used when battling addiction issues. According to the comedian’s friends, he always knows when he is struggling and is never shy about getting help.
