Isabel Roloff Stirs Drama With Controversial Parenting Update

Little People, Big World, star Isabel Roloff recently stirred drama with a controversial update on her parenting style.

Isabel married LPBW star Jacob Roloff in September 2019 on his family’s farm in Oregon. The couple welcomed baby Mateo at the start of December 2021. Since then, Isabel has updated fans occasionally on her parenting journey. A recent post stirred controversy as she weighed in on a mundane topic that turned into a point of criticism for some online trolls.

Isabel And Jacob Parent Baby Mateo In The Spotlight

In January 2022, Isabel Roloff opened up about the challenges she faced while breastfeeding her then-newborn baby Mateo. According to the reality tv star, the ability to breastfeed is not something she takes for granted. In the beginning, Isabel explains, they “had a rough start.” The young mother says of the experience, “it’s so special to me.”

Isabel went on to explain that she felt unprepared for a lot of aspects of parenting. But, she added, ” … I was probably the least informed on breastfeeding.” According to Isabel, people assume that breastfeeding should come naturally, but it’s “no easy feat.” And, she opined, “It takes time to figure it all out.”

A few months down the road, it appears that Isabel and baby Mateo were able to work through the challenges.

Isabel Roloff Causes Drama With A Controversial Parenting Decision

Isabel is still breastfeeding 18-month-old Mateo. Breastfeeding her child that is nearly 2 years old has people reacting with surprise to this update on Isabel‘s parenting choices. Most of them are pleasant. But some, Isabel says, are less kind.

In her Instagram stories, Isabel addressed the trolls. She shared a story where she explained that there are many supportive messages about still breastfeeding her son at 18 months. However, there are occasionally messages “like this,” she wrote.

In a screenshot of an older post of Isabel’s talking about the benefits of breastfeeding, one troll wrote, “Well, maybe a doctor shouldn’t say that, but it is kind of gross.” Isabel clapped back, writing, “Gross where??”

Isabel Roloff, Jacob Roloff and their son Mateo are all living on Jacob’s father’s farm in Oregon. They moved into a fifth-wheel trailer camper home on Matt Roloff’s property. In a tight-quarters living situation like that, breastfeeding can pose extra challenges. Despite the drama and occasional troll controversy, Isabel is making it work.
