‘Bachelor’ Ben Higgins Pushing Hard To Be Host?
Former Bachelor Ben Higgins is speaking out about the current state of the franchise. He has been a fan favorite for a long time so he’s well-liked and accepted by Bachelor Nation. After Chris Harrison departed the show as host, Jesse Palmer was ultimately given the permanent gig. However, the show has suffered some rating losses over the past few seasons. Is Ben pushing hard to be the next host of the franchise? Keep reading to find out more.
Is Ben Higgins ready to take over hosting duties for The Bachelor?
Ben Higgins has had a good-standing relationship with The Bachelor franchise from the beginning. He did find love on the show but ultimately he and Lauren Bushnell split leaving Ben single again. He went on to meet the love of his life Jessica Clarke. The two are now married and loving life together with their dog.
Now that he has happiness personally, is he wanting to step up and do something professionally with The Bachelor franchise? Is Ben thinking that he would want to be the host of the show?
That’s actually a yes and no-answer. Recently when Ben spoke with US Weekly he talked about possible ways to revive the franchise and make it fresh and exciting again. One thing he mentioned was that producers should jump on the opportunity to move forward with the senior edition of The Bachelor.
While talking about it he was asked if he was pitching himself to be the host of the spinoff series. Ben said, “Oh, I’ve done it since they started announcing it. I’ve wanted to be the host of that show since the moment I first saw the commercial, I said, ‘This is my dream.’” He continued, “I’m not asking for a lot from the show. I haven’t asked for anything in years, but I am making sure that it is known that if they need somebody — I’m not trying to take Jesse Palmer away from the show — just let me, like, be there as the medicine passer outer or, like, not the bartender, just let me figure out what blue pill to put in the bottle.”
So, while Ben would love the opportunity he always doesn’t want to step on Jesse’s toes and it seems he only wants to host the senior edition not take over all the shows.
He also talked about Zach’s fantasy suite drama
While speaking with the popular magazine Ben also briefly addressed Zach Shallcross and the fallout he faced following fantasy suites. Ben wasn’t there to offer Zach advice, instead Sean Lowe along with Jesse Palmer handled it. However, Ben does have some thoughts on it.
He said that he and Sean share the same faith tradition. They are both Christians and he feels there are certain boundaries or values that exist from being part of the religion. Ben was also quick to point out that perhaps he and Sean differ on physical aspects but that they do come from the same faith tradition.
He would have told Zach that it isn’t about being The Bachelor at that point of the show. It’s involving emotions and trying to figure out who is the best match for a lifetime. He would have told him to have these conversations privately behind closed doors.
What do you think about Ben talking about hosting duties and his advice to Zach?
