Breaks silence on TJ Holmes & Amy Robach

Kelly Ripa made an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Thursday night (April 6). The host had to know her thoughts about Amy Robach and TJ Holmes’ affair. ABC fired them back in January 2023 after a long mediation and internal review. Kelly’s daytime talk show is on the same network.

“This is a good question. I don’t know if you’ve been asked this,” Andy said as he read one of the viewer’s questions. “As someone who’s about to have your husband join you as co-host, what was your reaction to the news of Amy Robach and TJ Holmes’ relationship on GMA3?”

Andy believes ABC should’ve let them stay on because it would’ve been “more compelling” to watch them. The network pulled the co-anchors off the air after news broke about their affair in late November 2022. They remained off the air until their firing earlier this year. TJ and Amy have been reportedly shopping around their show to various networks.

“Well, look,” Kelly Ripa joked. “Very compelling, but Mark [Consuelos] and I have taken a vow of chastity while we’ll be working together. Because I know that ABC does not like TV partners banging on the side. So, we promise. No banging on the side for us.”

Kelly Ripa’s husband replaces Ryan Seacrest

Back in February, Ryan Seacrest announced that he was leaving Live with Kelly and Ryan. Kelly Ripa’s husband Mark Consuelos will replace him on the show. ABC will rebrand the talk show as Live with Kelly and Mark. It’s the first time that a married couple has permanently co-hosted the show.

Ryan is moving out of New York City this spring. He’s moving back to Los Angeles to film the live episodes of Season 21 of American Idol. Plus, he has other projects in the works. Ryan will still fill-in on the show every so often.

However, he’s “excited to pass the baton” to Kelly Ripa’s husband. He joked that the Hulu star can “feel free to remodel my dressing room.” Ryan also referred to Kelly as his “work wife.” He likened Mark to his “brother.”
