‘The View’ Whoopi Goldberg Goes Rogue Once Again, What Now?

The View’s Whoopi Goldberg goes rogue once again. The moderator is usually responsible for guiding the conversation. However, the comedian like to go off-script. She shocked fans when she closed out the show, but realized there was still time left. Keep on reading to learn more.

Why did Whoopi Goldberg go off the script?

On Friday’s live broadcast of The View, Whoopi Goldberg tried to go off the script. She didn’t know there was still time left in the show. Whoopi ended the episode with their daily “12 Days of Holidays” segment. Alyssa Farah Griffin kicked things off by showing the hot beauty products from Ulta.

Whoopi told the cheering crowd that they were each getting a $250 Ulta gift card. She also shared how the viewers at home could get their hands on the goodies. Whoopi shared that she was happy that the holiday season was coming to an end. Her fellow co-hosts agreed with her. She picked up her microphone and made a little speech.

“Now, this is what we call ‘the stretch,'” Whoopi Goldberg explained. “This means they [the producers] thought they didn’t have this much time.”

The panel reacted in laughter. They continued to listen to her as she took over the segment. Whoopi admitted that she didn’t have anything else to say. She just wanted to fill out the rest of the time.

“They didn’t have anything for me to do. But now, I can say everybody, thanks for coming,” Whoopi Goldberg continued. “Thanks for watching. I want you to have a great day everybody. Take some time to enjoy The View and we’ll see you tomorrow.”

There were still 30 seconds left of the talk show. The panel clapped and waved to the live studio audience, who clapped along with them. They continued to interact with them from their table until the show closed out.

Joy Behar went rogue too

Whoopi Goldberg is known for closing the show early. She’s been criticized for doing it before. Joy Behar went rogue during a previous broadcast. It took place in September when she shared her true thoughts about Gwyneth Paltrow. Joy mentioned that the Goop founder wrote an essay about turning 50 years old.

Joy filled in for Whoopi Goldberg as moderator. She introduced the topic as she went off-script. Joy shaded Gwyneth for “naming her child after a fruit.” Co-host Sara Haines called her out for the “ad-libbed” joke. Joy said she “draws the line” at people naming their kids after “fruits and vegetables.”
