On Instagram this week Kelly Jo paid special tribute to her mother, Betty Jo Pitcher, who passed away last month due to RSV complications. This week, Betty would have celebrated her 84th birthday. After Betty’s death, many family members took to social media to pay tribute to her. And most of them made it to her funeral as well. Though this is a challenging time for Kelly Jo and her children, she is surrounded by many who love her.
In her newest Instagram post, Kelly Jo included a selection of photos of her mother over the years. Some are older and others are more recent. Kelly Jo also shared about the amazing work her mother did over the years as a teacher. This week, Kelly Jo read some of her mom’s short stories and poems to her daughter Michael. Kelly Jo Bates said she “marveled once more at her talent!”
She wrote, “I am missing her and am realizing how short our time here is! Guess I’m wishing for more… and at the same time, so thankful for the time and memories I had! She touched many lives.”
