Talking about the cropped length of the spinoff, showrunner Declan de Barra explained, “This felt like a two-part movie. You never want to be watching a movie going, ‘I love this movie.’ And then you start to look at your watch going, ‘Oh, please end soon.’ I never wanted there to be any moment where we’re just stringing the audience along to have an episode.”
What Is The Witcher Spinoff Series About?
The spinoff is set 1200 years before the events of The Witcher series. It will explore the disastrous event known as the Conjunction Of The Spheres. Blood Origin will also detail the events that led to the creation of the world’s very first witcher.

The series is based on the novels by author Andrzej Sapkowski. However, it explores a time period that hasn’t been well-detailed in the novels or any other associated material by the author.
Why Did Henry Cavill Leave The Witcher Series?
While the past of The Witcher series looks certain, the original series has had its fair share of troubles, especially after Henry Cavill’s exit. Last month, the series lead announced that he was laying down his medallion and his swords for the fourth season. This marks the upcoming third season as his last portrayal of the lead Geralt Of Rivia. He also announced that Liam Hemsworth has already been roped in to take up the mantle.

However, fans were very disappointed by his exit and even started an online petition calling out Netflix to bring him back. The petition racked up more than 100,000 signatures. Although, at first, fans assumed that the Superman actor was leaving his role to take up his responsibilities at Warner Bros. However, later on, speculations started that the actor left due to creative differences with the showrunner/writers.
