Lifetime’s ‘A Show-Stopping Christmas’: All The Details
Lifetime’s A Show-Stopping Christmas uses the spirit of Christmas Past in this Dickens-inspired holiday movie.
A Show-Stopping Christmas stars Jamie Perez (We Can Be Heroes, Walker), Thomas McDonell (The 100, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist), Maureen Keiller (Unsure/Positive, Last Night In Rozzie), Caroline Portu (Mrs. Davis, The Catch), Robert Walsh (A Ring For Christmas, The Spirit Of Christmas), Junior Cius (The Last Black Dinosaur, Dice), Abri (Respect, The Expecting), Paul Melendy (Love, Weddings & Other Disasters, Texture), James Dickens, Dennis Daniel (Late Night Habits, Madame Web), Mollie Pedersen (A Cape Cod Christmas), Allison Ruthwell (Go Chase Yourself), and Bill Salvatore (Ray Donovan: The Movie, Defending Jacob).
Joany Kane (The Christmas Thief, Winters Garden), Caroline Portu (Inspiring Romance, Misread), and John Stimpson (Ghost Light, A Cape Cod Romance) wrote the script, with John Stimpson (Christmas On Ice, Christmas A La Mode) directing.
Originally, the title of this film was A Playful Romance. Here is what viewers can expect.
What Is A Show-Stopping Christmas About?
According to The Futon Critic, Riley Burnett (Perez) is the artistic director of a theatre and is dealing with some obstacles. She is preparing to produce A Christmas Carol. Attending this event is a yearly holiday tradition for many families from this area.
However, Regina Caldwell (Keiller) the Scrooge-like owner of the Onota Theatre in Western Massachusetts has threatened to sell the property before anyone can say “break a leg.”
Now, Riley invokes the ghosts of Regina’s past, present, and future. Can their brand of Christmas magic change this grouch’s mind?
Meanwhile, Sam Palmer (McDonell), a big-time television star, has escaped Hollywood for the more calm Western Massachusetts.
Riley convinces him to portray Bob Cratchit, to add some excitement and media attention to the production.
Thanks to Sam and Riley, they find a way to make this production happen, fall in love, and perhaps even save Christmas. Or are the three ghosts using some Christmas magic there as well?
