Josh Duggar Federal Prison Is Not So Secure, Prisoner Escapes?
How secure is Josh Duggar’s federal prison where he’s serving his 151-month sentence? The news recently broke that an inmate has escaped from the facility. Keep reading for all of the details about where Josh is doing his time and learn what’s going on with the inmate who escaped.
Where is Josh Duggar serving his federal prison sentence?
In the spring of 2021, Josh was arrested on child pornography charges. He was later found guilty and sentenced to 151 months behind bars. He’s currently doing his time at the Seagoville Federal Correctional Institute, which is located in Texas.
Not much is known about what’s going on with Josh these days as he serves his sentence. The Duggar family is mostly lying low as they continue living their lives in Arkansas. Josh’s wife, Anna, has reportedly been making the nearly six-hour trip from Arkansas to Texas to visit Josh every other weekend.
FCI Seagoville, where Josh Duggar is located, is a “low-security” facility, according to the Bureau of Prisons.
A prisoner escapes from the Seagoville facility.
An inmate has escaped from the prison where Josh Duggar is serving his sentence. The news was first broken by Fox 4 News, which is based in Seagoville, on Monday, October 31.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons announced Monday that 31-year-old Salvador Gallegos is missing from the satellite camp in Seagoville, which is beside the federal prison. He is a “walkaway.”
Fox 4 News notes that Gallegos was serving a 160-month sentence for possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine. He’s been behind bars for about a year.
Non-violent inmates can serve at these less restrictive satellite camps. 109 of FCI Seagoville’s 1,828 inmates are based at the camp. The satellite camp does not have a fence.
Below, you can watch a video from Fox 4 News about the situation. As of now, the search is still ongoing.
So, though someone escaped from the satellite camp, this doesn’t really affect Josh Duggar’s situation. He’s in the regular prison facility with different security measures in place. If Josh was in the satellite camp, things would be different. But since he’s at the prison next door, there’s not the same risk of him attempting to escape.
