Joseph Baena Channeled His Famous Father For Disney+ Night
Plenty of people recognize Joseph Baena as a famous bodybuilder. But not everyone realizes that he has such a famous father. Joseph Baena is actually the son of actor and former Californian governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
For Disney+ Night, he and his partner Daniella Karagach paid homage to the classic Disney film, Hercules. The routine was a nod to Joseph’s career as a bodybuilder, but he also channeled his famous dad during the routine. Joseph Baena paid tribute to his father for this week’s performance
Although Joseph and Daniella performed to a song from Disney’s Hercules, Joseph’s costume was a little different. Instead of looking like the Disney character, his costume was more reflective of the film Hercules in New York. Arnold Schwarzenegger starred in the 1970 film. His 25-year-old son hoped to imitate his character.
“It’s a movie that I’ve watched since I was a little kid… it’s always one of my favorite characters growing up,” Joseph told Fox News in a recent interview.”It was just funny for me to be able to portray this character also that he portrayed… we had a blast doing it and I thought it was great.”
Joseph posted a fun video on his Instagram page of him messing around in character.
“I had a little too much fun in tonight’s costume 😂” he captioned the video. Plenty of fans commented that he did resemble his famous father.
Fox News asked if Joseph Baena if he planned to follow in his father’s political footsteps. The 25-year-old said he wasn’t quite as interested in politics, but he definitely wants to explore acting more.
“Political aspirations? We’re going to keep that on pause for now,” Joseph joked with the news outlet. “But acting is my number one. It’s my passion. It’s everything to me… I’ve been a huge fan of movies all my life… it’s a career that I really want to pursue, and I am pursuing.”
Daniella Karagach is glad to be back in the ballroom
Disney+ Night marked Daniella Karagach’s big return to the competition. She sat out during Elvis Night and James Bond Night after testing positive for COVID-19. The good news was that she felt perfectly fine. She just couldn’t return until she tested negative again.
While she was out, troupe member Alexis Warr stepped in and performed with Joseph Baena. They did remarkably well for such a dramatic disruption!
But now that Daniella is back, the pair are back in the rehearsal room working on their routine for next week.
