Daniella Karagach is the reigning Dancing With The Stars champion for the time being. This year, she’s teaming up with bodybuilder Joseph Baena in hopes of defending her title. However, she was absent during Elvis Night during Monday night’s episode. Troupe member Alexis Warr filled in so that Joseph could still compete.

Where did Daniella go? Will she be back next week? Keep reading for answers.

Daniella Karagach was not able to perform due to medical issues

This week, Daniella and Joseph were supposed to perform the Viennese Waltz to “If I Can Dream” for Elvis Night. But there was just one problem — Daniella wasn’t anywhere in sight.

The 29-year-old dancer unfortunately tested positive for COVID-19 and was unable to perform on stage. Fortunately, her close contacts all tested negative. They were permitted to perform as long as they wore a mask during the performance. This included Joseph Baena and Daniella’s husband and costar, Pasha Pashkov.

The good news is that troupe member Alexis Warr stepped up to the plate and filled in for Daniella. They scored 6’s from all four judges, making their final score a 24. The judges largely had kind things to say about the routine but gave plenty of notes for Joseph to work on for week three.

During the episode, Tyra Banks revealed that Daniella is asymptomatic for now and doing just fine. If she tests negative this week, she may just be able to compete in week three.

Another DWTS Season 31 couple says goodbye during Elvis Night

Each of the 15 couples that performed during Elvis Night worked incredibly hard. Nearly everyone made improvements from week one. But one couple still had to go home at the end of the episode.

Real Housewives star Teresa Giudice and Pasha Pashkov were the ones eliminated in the end. They were in the bottom two during week one and just couldn’t improve quickly enough. Fans seemed to like their Elvis Night routine, but not enough to earn the votes needed. Teresa and Pasha joined Peta Murgatroyd and Jason Lewis on the list of eliminated couples this season.

The good news is that Pasha can go home to Daniella without fear of bringing COVID-19 back on set. The unfortunate part is that this is the third season in a row that Pasha and his celebrity partners have finished in second-to-last place. He partnered with Carole Baskin in Season 29 and Christine Chiu in Season 30.

Tune in next week to see what happens during Dancing With The Stars week three. Before long, fans will get a sneak peek of upcoming routines and songs. Who are you voting for? Leave your opinions in the comments below and stay tuned for more DWTS coverage.
