Will There Be Lifetime Sequel To ‘Flowers In The Attic: The Origin’?
Lifetime’s Flowers In The Attic: The Origin, Part 4: The Martyr ended with a time jump and a shocking ending. With the help of Corrine, Olivia (Jemima Rooper) locked her four grandchildren in the attic.
Grandma promised that this was only for “one night.” However, this was just the beginning of the children’s lives for many years. Both Olivia and Corrine showed a touch of evil in their eyes for what is to come.
What is next for the Lifetime series that is based on V.C. Andrews’ books?
What Happened in The Martyr?
In Lifetime’s Flowers In The Attic: The Origin, Part 4: The Martyr, we see the events after Mrs. Steiner (Kate Mulgrew) is murdered. We also see what happens after Corrine’s debutante ball.
Corrine and Christopher (Callum Kerr) run away, get married, and lead a perfect life. That is until he is killed in a car accident.
Olivia’s attempt to finally kill Malcolm (Max Irons) fails. Although he is still alive, he is paralyzed and unable to speak. Instead, Olivia takes over his business and takes pleasure in having control of his destiny.
Will Lifetime Make Sequel To Flowers In The Attic: The Origin?
Recently, Hannah Dodd (Corrine) spoke to TV Line About the final episode of Lifetime’s Flowers In the Attic: The Origin. This is the prequel to the Flowers In The Attic books that tell the story of how Olivia Foxworth became the monster who locked up her grandchildren in an attic.
The series was a success and fans are ready for more. Will there be another movie series? Dodd does not believe so, although she does think that there is an opportunity for some deep dives into characters that have not been done before.
“I don’t know. Obviously, the next step is Flowers in the Attic and that has been made so I wonder if there is a demand for it. Obviously with a limited series, you get to delve into the characters a bit more. I would be intrigued to see what that would look like, whether or not we came at it from a different point of view, maybe you saw what happens outside the attic during that time. There would have to be a reason for retelling that story because Lifetime’s already done it [and] they’ve done a great job of it.”
Lifetime Deleted Scene From The Series
In Flowers in The Attic: The Origin, Part 2, The Mother, Lifetime cut down one scene. Hannah Dodd revealed that this was a very heartbreaking scene, and very timely. However, she does think they made the right choice to cut it down.
“There was one scene that was cut down, which was Corrine’s abortion scene. I think it works out for the best, but that was heartbreaking. It’s even more heartbreaking now. A few of us discussed it recently with how it felt filming it and how the world has changed literally in the last couple of months. It was meant to be a ‘Look how far we’ve come’ [moment] and now it represents something so much worse; how some women are going to go through something like that and how it represents a man who thinks he’s entitled to an opinion over a girl’s body. It drives her to have to have an option like that and there wasn’t a better option for her.”
All four movies are now available on Lifetime’s website to stream.
