Will Bravo’s ‘Real Housewives’ Spin-Off Be Canceled?
Bravo’s latest Real Housewives series is at risk of being canceled. Fans fear that it could be on the chopping block. The cable network has rolled out new shows on its home station and the streaming platform, Peacock. Yet, this series isn’t gravitating viewers enough amid the growing controversy.
The latest Housewives spinoff debuted on Bravo on June 1, 2022. Since then, the ratings have been plummeting. Bravo already pushed back one episode which was supposed to air on an earlier date. Read on to learn more about which series could end up canned after the poor reception.
Ratings plummet for new spinoff series
As TV Shows Ace previously reported, fans wanted to know why there wasn’t a new episode of The Real Housewives of Dubai last week. They had to wait another week for the next episode to return. In the meantime, the show hasn’t been commanding the ratings the network hoped it would. The Dubai spinoff plummeted to its lowest ratings yet.
Twitter fan Bravo Ratings posted the viewer ratings for the fifth episode of the Real Housewives series. Season 1, Episode 5 only attracted 0.495 million, which is the lowest ratings yet. This doesn’t include DVR and streaming numbers. The network ratings have fans wondering if The Real Housewives of Dubai is on the chopping block.

It’s clear that Bravo spent a lot of money on this show. Since it’s set in Dubai, it had to look and act like money. After all, it’s about the opulence of the city. The confessional interviews and scenes are the most expensive-looking out of a Real Housewives franchise. However, the first season hasn’t been doing well in the ratings.
This comes amid the ever-growing boycott against the show due to the city’s extremist conservative political views. Real Housewives fans responded to the tweet to exclaim their concerns. Some of them are worried that Bravo could ax the show since it’s not so hot. Others are positive that the show will pick up steam by the second season.
- “I like the show! It’s just the 1st season. Give them a 2nd with a couple of shake-ups and I believe it would be a good show.”
- “[Bravo keeps] RHOBH going and that has been a snooze for years.”
- “They just started. The first season for a new city is generally always trying to just introduce them and then they start getting the hang of things…I think next season could take off.”
Will there be a Season 2 of Real Housewives of Dubai?
The question here is: Will there be a Season 2 of The Real Housewives of Dubai? The network may not want to wait around to see how well it does next year. Some fans noted that it doesn’t feel like a Real Housewives show. Others think there needs to be a cast shakeup to get fans interested.
- “This show is new. People are warming up to them. No show hits a million the first season. We will see next season.”
- “Will there be a next season?”
- “Love the show; I think it’s normal for the new season to be a bit shaky…I wonder if the location also affects things more than we realize.”
