Hallmark’s Ryan Paevey Stranded At Airport, ‘Furious’ At Airline’s ‘Indifference’
Hallmark’s Ryan Paevey may have just starred in Two Tickets To Paradise, but unfortunately, the General Hospital alum was stranded in Toronto by United Airlines.
Paevey went to social media to share what happened to him. His travel experience was the opposite of “paradise.” Moreover, did he ever make it out of Canada? We have all the details and the possible cause right here.
Ryan Paevey Checks In Three Hours Early, But Seat Taken
On Thursday, Ryan Paevey went to Twitter to share his horrific traveling experience. “Not sure I’ve ever had a worse experience trying to travel….it’s almost enough to never return to your city. Still no clue how I’m getting home. #torontoairport”
Director Ron Oliver commented, “You’re having the EXACT EXPERIENCE I had last week at Pearson. That place is horrible.”
Paevey was stuck at Toronto Pearson Airport on Thursday morning. What happened? Thanks to his next tweet, we learned that he checked in early, nearly three hours early. However, the airline gave his seat to another passenger. That is unheard of! That is why he called out United Airlines on Twitter.
Miraculous that I’m sitting in San Francisco with time to eat. Hey @united wanna explain to me why my seat was given away this morning despite arriving nearly three hours early to downed check in terminals and indifferent agents?
This sounds like a nightmare travel experience. What seemed to upset Paevey the most was that the United gate agents were “indifferent.”
He told the many fans who engaged with him, “Incompetence can be corrected, it’s the INDIFFERENCE that’s infuriating. I’m not mad that i flew coach, I’m stoked i even managed a seat at all. I’m mad that so many people wanted to go home today, and the lot of us were met with disdain and irritation by airport staff @united.”
Major Communications Outage In Toronto
Ryan Paevey had stated in one of his tweets of the “downed check in terminals.” Turns out, this was a problem throughout the Toronto area. One fan, Carrie explained, “If you were flying from Toronto, communications systems went down – at least those relying upon Rogers Communications. No cell service for those using that system. People can’t use credit cards, buy gas, do banking. It’s a mess. Never happened before.”
According to Reuters, this went on for 19 hours. Rogers Telecommunications, which is Canada’s biggest telecom operator, had a service outage. This meant that “banking, transport, and government access for millions” was out.
Besides the airport, this affected both cell phone and landline calls, 911 emergency calls, and even the mobile app for incoming travelers into that part of Canada. This also included cashless payments, and ATM cash withdrawals as well.
Could this outage have been the cause of Ryan Paevey’s horrible travel day? Possibly. However, based on the news report, this outage appears to have happened the day after Paevey’s flight. Therefore, as awful as Ryan Paevey’s travel experience was, it appears that things were about to get worse for those traveling from Toronto’s Pearson airport.
Perhaps next time, he will take a road trip on his bike instead?
