Lauren Conrad Received ‘Lifesaving Care’ Because Of Ectopic Pregnancy

Lauren Conrad revealed she received “lifesaving care” because of her ectopic pregnancy. She shared her experience amid the controversial Roe V. Wade reversal. The 36-year-old rarely speaks out about politics. However, Lauren felt it was important to talk about a matter that affects so many women.

On Tuesday, June 28, the lifestyle blogger took to her Instagram Stories to share a time when she was diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy. Per Mayo Clinic, type of pregnancy takes place outside the uterus, usually in the fallopian tubes, and causes fatal bleeding, if left untreated. It took place before she started a family with her husband William Tell.

The Hills alum shares her experience with an ectopic pregnancy

Lauren Conrad shared an emotional story with her 5.9 million followers. In light of recent events, she felt a need to share her experience. Lauren didn’t know what to say exactly. But, she knew exactly how to relate to women who struggle with reproductive issues.

“The last few days have been hard. I’ve been searching for the right words, and reposting someone else’s didn’t feel quite right,” Lauren Conrad wrote on her Instagram Stories. “I wanted to share my own experience with lifesaving reproductive care.”

She suffered from an ectopic pregnancy six years ago. Thankfully, a team of doctors treated her promptly, which allowed her “to have two healthy pregnancies.” Lauren felt the need to share her experience after she read about a woman who went through one but didn’t have the same positive experience.

“Yesterday I read about a woman with this same condition have her ectopic pregnancy rupture — and facing death — while waiting for treatment, because her doctor was on the phone with his lawyer out of fear of losing his medical license (for using a D&C as a tool to help establish the diagnosis of an ectopic pregnancy),” Lauren Conrad continued.

Lauren Conrad encourages the importance of reproductive rights

In her message, Lauren Conrad encouraged the importance of reproductive rights. She feels that it’s necessary for women to make their own decisions when it comes to their reproductive care.

“Many women in my life have had their own experiences with abortion,” Lauren Conrad said. “I am so grateful that in each case they were able to safely receive the healthcare they needed and were free to make their own decisions.”

The former MTV star admits that the ongoing conversation about abortion and women’s reproductive rights “is scary and sad and confusing.” Lauren also acknowledged the division it’s caused in this country. But, she feels it’s important for everyone to listen to each other and share their experience.

“I hope somebody we will be in a place where every woman has access to the healthcare she needs and the freedom to decide what happens in her own body,” she concluded.

Lauren Conrad’s message comes after the Supreme Court’s 6-3 ruling to overturn 1976’s Roe V. Wade. This eliminates the constitutional right to abortion.
