Could ‘When Calls The Heart’s’ Mountie Now Be In A Love Triangle?
When Calls The Heart Season 8 ended with Lucas (Chris McNally) winning over the heart of Elizabeth (Erin Krakow), and Nathan (Kevin McGarry) being left heartbroken.
However, in WCTH Season 9, things are quite different in Nathan’s love life. There were a couple of ladies vying for the Mountie’s attention. Does this mean that Nathan is now embroiled in a love triangle in Season 10?
When Calls The Heart Season 9 Started With Broken Heart
At the beginning of When Calls The Heart Season 9, Nathan was nursing a broken heart. Speaking to ET, Kevin McGarry had shared that the Mountie was not over Elizabeth. “We don’t just pick up like he’s all better.”
However, he also shared that “Elizabeth’s happiness has always been his main focus and he sees how happy she is.” Eventually, he did come “to terms with how happy she is and he learns to accept it.”
However, part of that learning to accept part was due to meeting Mei Sou (Amanda Wong).

When Calls The Heart Newcomer Captures Mountie’s Eye
When the mysterious Mei Sou came to Hope Valley, she instantly connected with Nathan. Throughout When Calls The Heart Season 9, he was involved in her storyline, including the shocking accusation that she was married! That certainly messed around with everything that this righteous Mountie holds dear.
Then, she left Hope Valley, only to return in the Season 9 finale episode. Does this mean that Nathan and Mei are a couple? Deidre Behar at ET asked that very question to WCTH co-executive producer, and writer, Elizabeth Stewart. She asked if it was “safe to assume” that Nathan and Mei are an official couple?
Her response was cryptic. “I don’t think it’s safe to assume anything when it comes to love and relationships, especially in Hope Valley!”

From Best Pals To Rivals?
What seems to indicate another When Calls The Heart love triangle is Nathan’s close relationship with Dr. Carter (Andrea Brooks). This makes it all so complicated as Faith is good friends with Mei. Moreover, she has some feelings for Nathan.
Stewart was asked if Faith is ready for a relationship.
I think Faith is in a place where she would love to find love but she’s also grateful for the full life she has, between her medical career and her friendships in Hope Valley. Maybe she sees that as enough or maybe she’s just convincing herself of that.
Now the question for WCTH Season 10 is whether they will continue this sort of love triangle. Or, will Allie (Jaeda Lily Miller) help her father make a choice and start courting either Mei or Faith? Or perhaps Fiona (Kayla Wallace)?
