‘SW’ Meri & Kody Brown Courted 17 Year Old, What Happened?
Prior to courting Robyn, Meri and Kody Brown casually mentioned they had a few potentials but nothing serious. As for the rest of the Sister Wives ladies, it just seemed very natural. Janelle and Christine seamlessly entered the Brown family as the second and third wives but were there other options? A Reddit thread was started over an excerpt from the Brown’s book, Becoming Sister Wives. It appears there may have been someone else the family was courting and she may not have been of age.
Kody Brown Creates The Perfect Sister Wives Family
In 1990, Kody and Meri appeared to be very much in love when they got married. He was twenty-one and Meri was nineteen. Though Meri grew up in polygamy, Kody had not been raised on that side of Mormonism. Prior to marrying Meri, he and his father became a part of the Mormon church that involved polygamy. It was expected that Meri and Kody would take on more wives which they did three years after getting married. Janelle was married to Meri’s brother which was how she knew the couple. However, she was not raised in polygamy yet she really liked Meri and Kody. In 1993, she became their second wife.
The following year, they welcomed their third wife Christine who was raised very much like Meri. She adored Kody and was willing to do whatever he wanted which was a breath of fresh air for him. Furthermore, she broke any tension that went on between Meri and Janelle. Finally, sixteen years later, Kody started courting a single mother, Robyn. He had been introduced by Meri and she had grown up in polygamy, as well. She eventually married Kody and became the official fourth Brown wife. Now a section of the Brown’s book has resurfaced where it appears they were courting a much younger woman. When was it and what happened?
Who Is This Mystery Teen Bride?
According to a chapter written by Christine, Meri and Kody Brown were actually courting a seventeen-year-old girl prior to pursuing her and Janelle. Apparently, they were waiting until the young lady turned eighteen to announce the engagement. It was really hard for Christine to stomach all the courting talk so she was thrilled when it was called off. A Reddit thread was started in response to this, especially the age issue. It appears Kody would have been around twenty-three when it all happened and it does not sit well for most. More so, followers wanted to know why it ended: “I want to know who this girl was and why she called it off. I’m honestly surprised that the elders would have sanctioned additional marriages for a man who could barely support the one wife he had, much less two or three.”
Another added: “This mystery teen dodged the biggest bullet ever.” One Redditor had this to say: “He was 23 or 24… “courting” a high school student.” There have been questions as to why Kody was okay with Maddie dating Caleb and the timeline of their relationship. Now it all makes sense that age is not really a factor to him or his wives.

Somehow it doesn’t surprise me. Kody is plain sick and that Meri was willing to go along with his courting a 17 year old says a lot about her. Please, remove Kody and his sick women from TV once and for all!
