Part two of the Below Deck Sailing Yacht windstorm took place on Monday, March 28. This is worse than the boat crash that took place last season. Captain Glenn Shephard was embarrassed about that accident since it could’ve been preventable. Deckhand Tom Pearson could also prevent the yacht from dragging anchor.

He had a boring night until the winds went to 31 knots. Meanwhile, Tom’s mind was somewhere else. He was busy making out with third stew Ashley Marti. Alarms sounded and he said on the radio he thought they were dragging anchor. Tom claimed the winds came out of nowhere.

Captain Glenn thinks Tom waited several minutes to alert the team, which could’ve caused a near-fatal incident. The Below Deck Sailing Yacht deckhand’s job is on the line as the crew figures out what to do with him. It’s clear that he can no longer do anchor watch. Glenn and the deck team can’t trust him anymore.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3 could’ve almost ended

On Monday’s latest episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Glenn revealed that the Parsifal III was close to being stuck in the waters. In his confessional, he revealed that another sailing yacht was breached over the past year. First mate Gary King and chief engineer Colin McRae jumped out of bed to prevent the boat from getting destroyed.

“You just feel this sinking feeling in your stomach that I’ve never felt before,” Colin said in his confessional. “This is 100 times worse than hitting the dock.”

In Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2, Glenn crashed the dock. It was known as the worst crash in the history of the franchise. Glenn is still embarrassed by that incident to this day. Yet, this near-fatal incident could’ve cost the lives of the crew members, charter guests, and production.

The problem was that the boat was stuck through the stand. If the sailing boat wasn’t able to move into the water, they would remain stuck. At the time, Tom went into the tender to help the yacht move out of the sand and get it moving again. While he didn’t claim responsibility for the incident, he was still embarrassed by what happened.

Tom Pearson could lose his job after this disaster

Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans have a feeling that Tom’s job won’t last for long. Captain Glenn and the crew managed to avoid this near-disaster. Colin put on scuba diving gear and check out the boat’s bottom to make sure nothing was damaged. Regardless, Glenn is concerned that this happened in the first place.

“The whole thing was a nightmare,” the Below Deck Sailing Yacht star told E! News. “The person [Tom Pearson] who was supposed to be keeping an eye out [was] a massive disappointment.”

Gary doesn’t think Tom is the right person for the job. Glenn doesn’t want him to take any other work since it could be a safety issue. Tom is wondering if he still wants to be a part of the crew. Glenn meets with Colin and Gary behind closed doors to find out what to do with him.
