Things got heated during Clayton Echard’s last few episodes on The Bachelor. After seeing the crazy rose ceremony in which Clayton told Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia he loved them both and was intimate with both of them, many alums spoke out. One alum who always gives honest thoughts is Blake Horstmann. Only this time he got a few other alums weighing in on his tweet. Bennett Jordan did not hold back how he really feels about the franchise casting their leads.

US Weekly shared what Bennett Jordan had to say following Clayton’s explosive rose ceremony that left Gabby and Rachel heartbroken.

Blake went to social media to share his thoughts on what transpired at that awful rose ceremony. He said, “Clayton doesn’t seem to have enough empathy in these moments because he wasn’t in love with Michelle [Young] and didn’t get his heart broken on national television. The leads have a better shot at finding love if they are from the top 3 and have fallen in love in this environment.”

One alum didn’t quite agree with Blake and didn’t hold back on his feelings. Bennet replied back saying, “I would counter this argument and say whether you’re top 5 or top 3 does not matter at all as long as you know the journey works. It’s a matter of men vs. children on a tv show to get married, and unfortunately puppets are chosen over men when production wants to play the lead.”

Adam Gottschalk also weighed after Blake agreed with Bennett. Adam said it was rough to watch. He continued saying, “Agree to an extent with top 3-5 but a lead should never go into the show ‘blind’ like Matt James or Clayton. They should have their chance to understand the process and like you said get their heart broken.”

Bennett is not the first and won’t be the last to have an opinion on how producers handle things on the show. Blake is one who has always been very outspoken.

Why Clayton was chosen as The Bachelor

There were many fans who were shocked over ABC’s choice to cast Clayton as the lead. Nobody knew who he was. In fact, Michelle Young’s season of The Bachelorette had not even premiered yet when Clayton began filming.

There were even alums wondering why Clayton was chosen. Many felt Clayton did not have what it took to be the lead. However, while it was a bumpy ride, it did all work out for him in the end.

Plus, fans got their wish of seeing Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia get another shot at love by being dual Bachelorettes.

What do you think about Bennett saying the show casts puppets as leads instead of men?

What did you think about the way Clayton’s season played out?
