The reality star became “closer” to her mom since opening up.
Paris Hilton talks about mended relationship with Kathy Hilton
Paris Hilton told Tamron Hall that their relationship is better these days. The 62-year-old apologized to Paris. She also listened to her daughter share her childhood trauma. Since then, they have worked on repairing their broken relationship.
“We are just so much closer now. That was something that was traumatizing to me, [what I] went through, and something that has been such a painful subject for us both to talk about,” Paris Hilton told Tamron Hall, as quoted by People.
The entrepreneur was grateful that she could speak to her mom about it. Kathy also watched Paris’ documentary. She finally understands what Paris went through. The first time that her mom apologized “meant the world” to Paris “because it’s something I’ve been waiting for for a very long time.”
In her documentary, the Paris in Love star recalled the abuse she went through as a teen at Provo Canyon School in Utah. Her mom sent her to boarding school after she got “addicted to the nightlife” as a teenager. She recalls that her peers were given unknown medication and sent to solitary confinement if they didn’t take them. The two-hour YouTube documentary debuted in September 2020.
Recently made amends with Lindsay Lohan
As TV Shows Ace previously reported, Paris Hilton also made amends with Lindsay Lohan. She revealed that they ended their long-standing feud because they’re “not in high school” anymore. The former friends reconnected after the news of Lindsay Lohan’s engagement in November 2021.
Last month, Paris Hilton appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen alongside her mom. She revealed that she has reconnected with the former Disney star. When Andy asked her where they currently stand, Paris responded with a smile, “I just feel like we’re grown-ups now. I just got married. She just got engaged. We’re not in high school. I think it was just very immature and now everything is all good.”
Paris reached out to Lindsay amid both of their milestones. She was currently on her honeymoon when she heard the news of Lindsay’s engagement. So, she offered her congrats. That’s also what got the two to break the ice. Paris confirmed: “No bad vibes.”
Lindsay announced her engagement to Bader Shammas in late November 2021. That same month, Paris Hilton married venture capitalist Carter Reum. What are your thoughts on her new journey to forgiveness? Sound off below in the comment section.
