Randall Emmett is making headlines for his money issues once again. Lala Kent’s ex-fiance sued his former landlord for $550,000. This comes just months after his financial problems came to light. Randall refuses to pay back rent on his office.

The Midnight in the Switchgrass director claims his landlord didn’t follow the safety protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic. The company called 8200 Cardinal Associates filed a lawsuit against Randall. In October 2021, they sued Randall Emmett and George Fural Productions for breach of the lease. Now, Randall’s fighting back with a lawsuit of his own amid his money struggles.

Lala Kent’s baby daddy sues ex-landlord for $550k

According to the court documents obtained by Radar Online, Randall Emmett leased office space in their building in 2017. The producer rented a portion of the third floor for $17,000 per month. The lawsuit claims that Randall and his partners stopped making monthly payments in 2021. They left the premises without warning in March 2021.

However, the lease didn’t expire until June 30, 2021. The landlord sued Randall Emmett and his company for $281,000 in unpaid rent and other fees. The company is also asking for $55,000 for the remaining months left on the lease. The company is also seeking an excess of $336,000 in damages.

Randall Emmett responded with a lawsuit of his own. He denies 8200’s allegations of wrongdoing. He filed a countersuit against his former landlord. According to Randall, the building shut down in March 2020, at the height of the coronavirus pandemic. He was not able to access the office for months.

Randall also claimed the elevator wasn’t in service from August 2020 to February 2021, which made it hard for him to move out. The Hollywood producer accuses his landlord of mishandling his mail. Randall claims they misplaced “2 checks from the Ohio state treasurer for $2.2 million each and a check from the Georgia state treasurer for $180,000.” He argues that this result cost him $200,000 in default interest.

Randall Emmett has financial woes

This lawsuit was filed just weeks after his reported financial problems. Randall Emmett was in a court battle with his former wife Ambyr Childers. He claims that he was nearing bankruptcy when he requested the court to reduce his child support payments. In October 2021, Radar Online obtained the court documents from when Randall appeared in court in May.

The Vanderpump Rules alum begged the court to change the support order that required him to have a remaining balance of $50,000 in his bank account. That money would be used for non-tuition expenses related to their two kids. The judge ruled that Randall should keep the account open. Randall claimed that he was running out of money and “cannot afford to fund the child support security account at a rate of $50,000 every month.”

The hearing also revealed that Randall Emmett owes $500,00 to the IRS and loans to a production company. This counter lawsuit is interesting since the producer could use the money to pay off his debts. Now, he has more debts than he bargained for. What’s also unclear is how he handles his financial situation for his daughter, Ocean Emmett, which he shares with Lala.
