Kelly Clarkson and her estranged husband Brandon Blackstock are still in a bitter divorce battle. In June 2020, the American Idol alum announced her split from the former talent manager. She cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason. Kelly and Brandon’s divorce case rages on in the courts.

Thankfully, she can declare herself “Miss Independent.” But what about their property? Their assets and property are currently being divided among them. Brandon left the music industry behind to become a full-time rancher. He’s currently living there, but since the property belongs to Kelly’s he may have to move.

Does Brandon Blackstock have to pack his bags soon?

Kelly is having trouble removing her ex-husband from their Montana ranch. According to a new report, she won’t be able to evict him from the property. This battle may take longer than anticipated. Just because the property is hers doesn’t mean that she wields that kind of power over him.

“Kelly recently had a major legal setback in a bid to get Brandon evicted from the Montana property that the judge awarded solely to her,” an insider told Us Weekly. “He has been living in it and said he doesn’t have the financial means to afford to purchase a residence of his own at this time, citing the unresolved financial aspect of their divorce.”

Brandon claims he can’t just leave the property yet. His new career hasn’t flourished yet in Montana. The insider added: “The judge sided with Brandon and ruled in his favor, the order just hasn’t been formally signed off on.” This is a massive setback for the “Because Of You” singer, who’s been battling with her husband in court since last year.

In October, Kelly was awarded the $10.4 million ranch. In that same month, Brandon felt that he still had this fight in his favor. He argued that it was “marital property” while simultaneously throwing out the couple’s prenuptial agreement. However, the judge did not rule in his favor.

Kelly Clarkson wanted to sell the Montana ranch

The Kelly Clarkson Show host had ideas for that property. She previously asked the judge to let her sell the ranch. She argued that it was a “financial burden” that was costing her $81,000 a month just for maintenance. Brandon is the one who’s expected to pay for that kind of upkeep.

In April 2021, the judge ordered him to pay for the monthly expenses for the ranch. He receives a total of $200,000 from his former wife in child support and spousal support each month. In June, she filed a request to be declared legally single amid their ongoing divorce proceedings. A judge granted her request in August.

Do you think Kelly Clarkson should be allowed to evict Brandon from the ranch? Or, do you think he has a legal right to stay there? Whose side are on you? Sound off below in the comment section.

  1. Brandon Blackstock thinks that he is owed everything. My gosh looks how much Kelly has to pay him each month and he comes from a wealthy family and can’t afford to buy a home, that is BS. He needs his butt kicked out fir good instead od everything handed to him on a silver platter. She is the one working her butt off to bring home the bacon, not him.
