The Young and the Restless star Courtney Hope broke her silence on social media just a week after she called it quits with General Hospital star Chad Duell. The couple got married in a gothic style wedding in October. It’s no longer “Til Death Do Us Part” anymore. The two have since gone their separate ways.
Neither Chad nor Courtney took to their respective social media accounts to confirm the split. The news of their split comes as a shock to fans since they were together for five years. They abruptly ended things after two months.

As previously reported by TV Shows Ace, Hope and Duell scrubbed their Instagram accounts of their wedding photos. It’s highly unlikely they did it because of the reaction they received for their untraditional ceremony. The couple proudly showed off their Steampunk wedding. Hope wore a blood-red lace wedding dress and Chad matched her in his tuxedo.
All trace of their wedding photos is gone. However, their Y&R, B&B, and GH castmates still have their photos from the wedding on their own social media pages. They had a “‘Till Death’-themed” outdoor wedding in Malibu, California. Their friends, family, and loved ones wore all-black ensembles.
Duell proposed to Hope during a Valentine’s Day beachside picnic in Malibu. This comes after she joined the cast of The Young and the Restless in November 2020. The actress is best known for her role as fashion designer Sally Spectra in The Bold and the Beautiful. She left the soap in August 2020 for her character’s big move to Genoa City.
Meanwhile, Duell is a fan favorite at General Hospital. He has taken on the role of Michael Quartermaine Corinthos since 2010. Duell previously dated Kristen Alderson who played Starr Manning (One Life To Live) and Kiki Jerome (General Hospital) for many years before ending things. He entered a relationship with Hope since his breakup with Alderson.
Y&R star breaks her social media silence
Since the breakup rumors swirled, Courtney Hope kept a low profile on social media. She has since broken her silence. On Friday, December 17, Hope shared a photo of herself from the set of The Young and the Restless. She posed alongside her co-stars Elizabeth Hendrickson, Melissa Claire Egan, and Tracey Bregman.
In her caption, the fiery redhead shared that they’re doing shots. She’s celebrating with her good friends. Hope was also grateful for the incredible year she had on the soap.
“‘Martini 🍸 shots’ 🎥 with the ladies on the last shooting day of 2021. What a wonderful year on @youngandrestlesscbs 🎁🤗❤️ .. ,” Courtney Hope wrote in the caption. “Happy Holidays everyone! We love you all 🥰.”
Her Y&R co-stars flocked to the comment section to share their support. Bregman wrote, “Love you!! ❤️❤️❤️” Hendrickson joked: “Also, i could really use a Martini!!!” while Egan added, “❤️❤️❤️😚” Y&R fans also took to the comments to share holiday wishes.
