Kaitlyn Bristowe Has Intense Flashbacks While Visiting ‘DWTS’ Set
Dancing With The Stars can be a lot of fun. However, it’s also a lot of work. Some memories of the competition are happy, and others are a bit more complex. Reigning champion Kaitlyn Bristowe returned to the ballroom this week and actually had some flashbacks to her own time in the rehearsal room after watching Melora Hardin compete with her former partner, Artem Chigvintsev.
Kaitlyn Bristowe really relates to Melora Hardin’s struggles with Artem Chigvintsev
We saw a few couples really get into it during prerecorded packages during the Janet Jackson episode. Alan Bersten and Amanda Kloots definitely had their claws out — and so did Melora and Artem.
“I think it’s really important for people to see that real relationships require negotiating and compromise and forgiveness, and sometimes there’s tension,” Melora told Us Weekly and the rest of the press after the episode. “Sometimes you have to find your way with each other. It’s not perfect. Life isn’t that. It’s not just, like, gumballs and rainbows all the time. It’s real life and this is real life and Dancing With The Stars is all-consuming when you’re doing it. … You’re learning stuff under a heightened amount of pressure, which continues to grow.”
If one person really understands Melora here, it’s Kaitlyn Bristowe. She worked with the Russian dancer last year and also found him to be difficult at times, but all their hard work really paid off. They won the Mirrorball Trophy and Artem was even nominated for an Emmy.
While watching the episode, Kaitlyn Bristowe revealed she had intense flashbacks to her own arguments with Artem.
“I mean, you really get, like, into a relationship with people and you butt heads sometimes. Artem is such a professional and Melora is obviously just doing her best, and sometimes, you just get so emotionally drained that you kind of have to have those fights to come back together, get on the same page and go from there. And then look at their dance! After that happened, they crushed that. It was like she was taking out all of her aggression in that Paso [Doble]. It worked well for them.”
Dance relationships are hard, but they make it work
At the end of the day, no dance relationship is perfect. The pros and their celebrity partners spend a lot of time together in the rehearsal room, so it only makes sense they would butt heads now and then.
Kaitlyn Bristowe may have a few unhappy memories, but it really seems like she enjoyed her time on DWTS overall. She’s even looking forward to going on tour with the pros once Season 30 is over for good.
