Winning the highly-coveted Mirrorball Trophy can be an emotionally overwhelming moment. For months, contestants put their blood, sweat, and tears into their routines in hopes of winning the competition. On top of that, many celebrity competitors have no prior dance experience. Fans weren’t quite sure how Joey Graziadei would perform, but he proved he could hold his own in the ballroom.

See what The Bachelor star had to say about his big win and how he reacted.

Joey Graziadei Couldn’t Believe He’d Actually Won Dancing With The Stars

Jenna Johnson and Joey Graziadei hovered near the top of the leaderboard all season long. But even so, they were earnestly surprised to hear they won the entire season. In fact, Joey has some gaps in his memory about the night.

“I don’t even know how I felt. I honestly blacked out,” the newly crowned Mirrorball Champion shared with Us Weekly. “I just remember [Jenna] screaming really, really loud. I remember hugging her.”

Many anticipated The Bachelor star and Jenna Johnson would win the season. However, it’s still an exciting moment to behold.

“I remember Val coming in,” Joey continued, referencing the moment Season 32 champ Val Chmerkovskiy gave them the trophy. “I remember this [trophy] was heavier than I thought it was going to be and that was about it. That’s where we’re at now. And now we’re here.”

Thankfully, Joey didn’t faint from his blackout moment. He went on to happily celebrate with loved ones, including his fiancee Kelsey Anderson.

Jenna Johnson Feels Incredibly Grateful For The Experience

As the former reigning champion, Val Chmerkovskiy felt excited to hand the trophy off to his wife, Jenna Johnson. There are plenty of married couples on DWTS, but they’ve never won back-to-back seasons before.

“[I felt] just so much sheer love and joy. That was a really special moment that I don’t think has ever, ever, ever happened before,” Jenna shared in the interview with Us Weekly. “So many people told me that they have videos of him freaking out and I can’t wait to see them. He’s been my number one supporter through this. He’s been mommy and daddy for us right now while I’ve been getting ready for this finale. So I’m just so grateful for him.”

“Champions!!! 🪩Speechless, proud, grateful…. Jenna & Joey!” Val posted on Instagram, congratulating the new winners. He attached a now-viral video of himself leaping for joy.
