Adam & Danielle Busby BLASTED For Cultural Appropriation: ‘Do Better’
Adam and Danielle Busby’s family theme for Halloween of 2021 caused a bit of a stir on Instagram. As we previously reported, many OutDaughtered fans took to the comments to gush about how much they loved the spooky, fun Day of the Dead theme. Unfortunately for the TLC parents, not everyone thought the CoCo inspired costumes were tasteful. In fact, Adam and Danielle Busby received some criticism for their choice of costumes across all three platforms they posted photos on.
In the comments of all three of their Instagram profiles, several fans took to the comments to call Adam and Danielle out for “cultural appropriation.” In a comment liked over 156 times on Danielle’s profile, one OutDaughtered fan even went as far as urging the TLC parents to “do better” with their costume choices.
OutDaughtered fans accuse of cultural appropriation
On their shared Instagram profile, Adam and Danielle clarified the girls had a slightly different opinion of their family theme for Halloween of 2021. Adam and Danielle referred to it as a Day of the Dead theme. But, the girls thought they looked more like characters from the Disney movie CoCo. Many OutDaughtered fans hoped the parents took the costumes as a learning opportunity and taught the girls what Day of the Dead was instead of just allowing them to refer to the costumes as CoCo characters.
Some more frustrated fans dragged the reality TV parents noting the costumes were “cultural appropriation.”
This is cultural appropriation cultures are not costumes. Do better”

Adam Busby seemingly folds under the pressure
Now, those who follow Adam Busby know that he’s never hesitated to fire back at Instagram trolls. He, however, appears to be taking a different approach to this latest criticism.
The individual who originally posted the comment noted they posted a similar comment on Adam Busby’s profile. They, however, added that Adam Busby appeared to be deleting all of the negative comments about cultural appropriation as opposed to responding to them.
Deleting negative comments versus firing back at them is a bit unusual for Adam. This made those chatting about the issue on Danielle’s profile and their shared profile speculate that Adam realized their costumes were a poor choice.
Did Danielle and Adam Busby make a mistake in their decision to dress the girls in Day of the Dead costumes? Do you think fans are overreacting? Or, do you understand why so many fans were upset? Share your thoughts with us in the comments. And, keep coming back for the latest on the Busby family.

So from now on I’m going to be all kinds of upset with all the people who dress up on St.Patrick’s day pretending to be Irish because they may be copying my hertiage?
The Day of the Dead is celebrated by quite a few people in costume, dancing in the streets, celebrating, what have you and no one looks under the mask to ask if they are Hispanic. Get a grip, all the chaos in the world and y;all are worried about this?
